Made appointment, staff was kind and understanding when we hit traffic. Even with CoVid19 protocols, we were able to get fit for new pointe shoes. Price oint is very comparable to online shopping, BUT you don't get fantastic customer service with time invested and no shipping fee here. Spend local!

I bought a gymnastics leotard for my granddaughter for Christmas. It was too small. I tried to return it but I had removed the tags, so they wouldn't exchange it. I had all the tags in my possession as well as my receipt. They refused to exchange it just because the tags were removed. It was obvious that I bought it there. This is infuriating and I will not shop there again. Be Forewarned!nnUpdate: after some additional discussion directly with the owner, and since the tags didn't leave any holes in the leotard, they allowed an even exchange.nnWhen my granddaughter was trying on a different one, the tags came off in the process. It is a ridiculous policy that they have and if you're buying the leotard for a gift, my advice is to buy it somewhere else to be safe.nnReply to owner's response:nYour account of what happened is not accurate.nThe tags of the original leotard may not have been physically attached to the leotard, but I DID have all the tags and my charge receipt with me in the store.nAlso, I did NOT abruptly leave the store. After the initial discussion with the sales clerk, my son and granddaughter went back out to their car. I stayed in the store a couple minutes while I called my wife to discuss the situation. We agreed I would buy a different size leotard, regardless of whether your store agreed to an exchange. We wanted our granddaughter to have her Christmas present.nI then told the sales clerk I would be right back. I went outside to speak with my son and granddaughter. We all went back into the store, and she tried on a larger size leotard. As we went to the counter, the sales clerk told us she spoke with the owner, and agreed to exchange the original leotard for the larger one, since the original had no holes in it.nThe only person we spoke to in the store was the sales clerk. Another employee appeared briefly while we were there, but we had no conversations with that lady.nBut, in the end, yes everything worked out. Our granddaughter has a properly fitting leotard, and I am not out $40.00 on the original purchase.nSo, Thank You again to whomever agreed to the exchange.

I have been thinking of making this review for awhile, but have held back thinking it was just my experience with a certain fitter. However, I have come to find out that multiple people have had the same experience with a variety of fitters at Kinney Dancewear. The customer’s opinion when getting fitted for pointe shoes are not taken into consideration at ALL.They are clearly biased towards Suffolk, as that seems to be the only style they pull for you, and that is the shoe they force you into purchasing. When my daughter was unsure they told her that was the shoe she needed. Even though she was uncomfortable with the fit. They sized my daughter WAY too big and I had my suspicions confirmed when I had her re fit at another dance store. We asked if we could try a different brand and they REFUSED and told us that the shoes she was fit in were perfect. Turns out they weren’t. I will never be coming back to get pointe shoes here again.
