Ritter's Housemade Foods

I was referred to Ritters by the drive thru teller at Columbia Bank on Commercial. I was making a deposit for my new shop Salem Autobody and Paintworks.. Im new in town and asked her where she liked to eat. RITTERS! She exclaimed joyfully, fantastic Mushroom Burger. Off to downtown I went. First impressions. Clean ,friendly, professional, busy. Sat myself and people watched. Food came out at a reasonable time, Irene my server was well dressed, polite . I assume the gentleman that came by was the owner or manager, engaged in small talk and made sure I got my burger cooked medium rare , I was pleasantly surprised it came out exactly as I ordered which almost never happens. The food was very good. The service was very good, the restaurant was nice and clean. Good job.

Over rated (but loved by locals).

Five of us met for lunch all having something different. We were all pleased with our selections. Staff is delightful and helpful. The bar is amazing. We shared a salad and pizza and that was perfect, but there were many things on the menu I would have liked to try. The restaurant was full and bustling, but it was very easy to carry on a conversation.

It was very good, but quite pricey. A few tips I would give to the restaurant:n-Make the mushroom goat cheese pizza a little less salty and a little more crispy. Half of it was very doughy.n-I couldn't taste lemon in the crab and shrimp sandwich at all and missed it.n-The sandwich with the bacon pepper jam was very small for the price and wasn't quite as good as it sounded. The bread would have been better toasted.nOverall we enjoyed our meal, but felt some items were overpriced for what you got even taking into account the quality of the ingredients. I am happy to pay for quality, but I felt it wasn't quite as good as it could have been. A few small changes would take it up to the next level and justify the price point.

The french fries are to die for with the pesto sauce, and the cheese platter is spectacular. We were literally raving the entire time about how delicious everything was, we loved the aesthetic, and the service was great. We didn't have to wait even though it was totally packed. 1000% recommend this place! We wish we lived here so we could eat here more. amazing
