Great place...but they're closed now... review was a year ago.

A real country tavern in a beautiful location. Cold beer, wine and beverages, friendly staff while you try your luck playing Oregon poker, lotto, test your prowess on the pool table! Bring your tent or RV and make it a great getaway with fishing/crabbing out on the bay. Mad Dog frequently has live music, outdoor BBQ, horseshoes, in a beautiful country setting 4 1/2 Miles out of Newport on the bay. Sawyers marina / RV park across the street.

Great place, great food, great music terrible bartenders terrible service in the bar.. very rude! They may want to try telling customers that they are not able to take open containers out the door to the back patio when they PURCHASE the beer not after they pop open the tabs!!! ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THERE'S ONLY ONE DOOR THAT CUSTOMERS CAN USE TO ACCESS THE BACK ! THEY MIGHT WANT TO REMOVE THAT BIG SHRUB IN THAT POT IN FRONT OF THE BAND WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THEM! WE WERE A LARGE GROUP AND WE WILL NOT BE BACK BECAUSE OF THOSE RUDE WOMEN BEHIND THE BAR!!

If you're looking for a low key local bar, this is it. The beers are cheap and atmosphere is super mellow. Doris makes the best burgers so make sure you ask for her.

Great local bar. We will go again next year.
