Oak Street Medical

Worst ever. The on-call doctor was terrible. Thank God I didn't follow their advice. They told me not to go to the ER. I could have died if I didn't. The reception staffs are the Karens. The office processes everything extremely slow. Would not recommend it.

The quality of medical care is generally very good, and the physicians and staff are helpful and reasonably easy to work with. The lower marks come from two different areas. First they have an extremely high turnover rate in docs and other staff, especially for the newer ones. I’ve had at least 4 primary care physicians in the last 6 years or so, and often don’t recognize the assistants from one visit to another. I don’t think this has affected the quality of care much, but we’d all like to feel like we have long term relationships with our providers, especially our PDPs. Also I fell like I have to keep track of my history, advocate for myself etc because of the lack of continuity.nnThe other area is interoffice communications. Quite frequently my refill requests from pharmacies get lost in the shuffle at their office, and after a week or so of no action I have to re-engage the pharmacy and Oak St Med to get these refills to happen. Also I’ve had the experience several times where staff follow up tasks after dr visits didn’t happen. This includes referrals, prescriptions.nnBottom line, good medical care but you have to be on top of your situation and not assume things are going to happen without your monitoring and interaction with staff.

I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with everyone at Oak street medical. From the front desk, to the nurses, and Dr. Raman. Each and every one of them was courteous, professional, and made my visit very comfortable. I’m very grateful to be in their care.

I contacted Oak Street Medical via their patient portal and left a message describing my symptoms and within 24 hours I received a phone call to schedule an appointment. Excellent service.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Oak St. Medical has been nothing but wonderful in all aspects for the 40 years I've been a patient.
