Everything about The Secret Wine Society is great! They have a nice historic building in Downtown Oakland and I heard they will be expanding with outdoor seating in the future. Inside has been renovated and still has all the charm you'd expect. The copper topped bar and wine storage were handcrafted to fit the space plus it's filled with unique decor. They have a large selection of wines from around the world ... things you couldn't find anywhere else. There are many creative menu options including soups, gourmet cheeses and hand sliced meats. Mike, the manager, treated us very well and was full of wine knowledge to help us make decisions. Robert and Dawn, the owners, are creating the perfect addition to Oakland and a unique attraction for the entire Umpqua Valley!

Wanting to try something different for Valentine’s Day, I brought my wife here on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised and had a very pleasant experience. We love our local wineries, but being able to sample curated bottles and grape varietals from around the world all with a unique story is a treat. The venue is historic, classy, and fresh. The cheese and charcuterie are excellent (and not from Costco). The Jazz playing in the background is also spot on. Do your date night a favor and make a stop at the Secret Wine Society.

Warm, Friendly, and Beautiful. These are just a few words that not only describe the atmosphere but also the owners. Their love of good wine and good food come together with their love of culture and people to create what can only be described and perfection. If you haven't had the privilege of partaking you must!

Had a fun wine tasting here. The owners are so nice and the space is a beautifully decorated old brick building.
