I have never had to have physical therapy before , I was a patient there and received the best carenI could have asked for. The place was clean and the staff and therapists were top notch, as far as I’m concerned. I hope I never have to go through physical therapy again but “if” I did....it would definitelynCheck in to Encompass Health Rehabilitation

Terrible. Do not let your loved anywhere near this place. Poor care, bad telephone service, our experience subpar on every care level, PT, nursing. Dr calls says he’s only eating 20% of meals - ok what are you doing about that ? Loved ones alone is these places during covid is a terrible thing ripe for poor care.

My father is almost 99 yrs old, suffers from some dementia, and wears hearing aids. This was all explained to them when I checked him in at 5pm. They then proceeded to schedule him for an orientation at 7am next morning and they called me in as he was showing agitation. When I got there, he was being wheeled around in a wheelchair in only his long pants and an undershirt; no eyeglasses or hearing aids. The facility temps are on the cool side. I took him back to his room for more clothing, his glasses and hearing aids. They then proceeded to schedule 3 therapy sessions at 2 hour intervals with lunch in between. When I said this was too much for a frail, elderly person who would need more recovery time, they only moved the 3rd session a bit later for the next 2 days, then they went right back to first day's schedule. He ended up missing several sessions as he was sleeping. There were entirely too many people coming and going and even I was confused as to who was who (I am 66). Entirely too cavalier in attitude towards dementia patients as they lost one of his hearing aids and I was the one to notice it. Whoever helped him into bed or got him up should have taken better care as his wearing glasses and hearing aids was noted on his fact board on the wall. Poor communications. They are reimbursing us 100% for the $400 replacement but it will take 4-6 weeks to receive the check. My father also passed out although not injured during a PT session while I was there although I questioned his blood pressure before starting as being on the low side. The PT therapist said she didn't think so as she saw similar low readings several days before PT sessions so I'm guessing it was lucky he only passed out this time. They were too low for a man his age. Facility clean, food OK, and staff very friendly but need to be more responsive in taking care of very elderly, dementia patients.

Great rehab but my mom left there with pneumonia, along with at least 5 other people currently at Community Medical Center.
