Jefferson Health Care Center

Our mother lives in Jefferson long term care facility and considers it her home, and the staff like family. She has been there a year and has a good quality of life, enjoys the activities, the other residents, and the staff that run them. Everyone there is so sweet to her and to us. The medical staff has taken great care of her and contacts us often with updates on her medical issues. During this pandemic, the activities staff and social workers at Jefferson have done what they can to help us communicate with our mother via phone and video calls. My sister and I can feel secure in the knowledge that our mother is being cared for and is in the best place for her.

My mother stayed here to rehab after a long hospital stay. I was highly disappointed in the customer service. When I called the receptionist had no idea where to transfer me half the time. When I was transferred I would get a random voicemail with no name and a different number recorded on it. When I call therapy to get an update, the DIrector of Rehab couldn’t even give me one. They wanted to discharge my mother after only 3 weeks when she still needed significant assistance. She had been independent before this hospital stay. When we asked for her to stay longer to get stronger and more independent they would only extend a couple days to appease us. So we found another rehab to send her to since Jefferson wouldn’t keep her longer. When they found that out, Social services was so rude to us. But if they won’t keep her and she needs more therapy then I’m gonna find someone who will help her. Then they come back and say they want to extend her another few days. Really?! We tell them no we don’t want to extend her stay and will transfer her. They proceed to tell my mother that she is staying longer and tell her husband that she is staying longer after we had told them no. What kind of communication system is that? My mother loves the Jefferson health system but we have never been so disappointed by them.

I would never recommend Jefferson acute rehab to anyone. I could not visit my loved one due to Covid restrictions but was able to stand by the window outside and talk to my family member. Staff were not wearing masks, my family member was dropped, staff were not welcoming and seemed very annoyed , and my loved one ultimately deteriorated under the care of the rehab staff. I do not trust that the best care was being given by the nursing staff. If my loved one did not go to this rehab she would still be alive. If you care about your loved one I would not send them to Jefferson Acute rehab.

I've seen a couple of people complaining about different things @ Jeff & I have to say I'm not so sure what they are talking about because My mother has been there over a year. I myself have been there almost every day to visit or drop off something to her since she's been there . My mother 90 years old over the coarse of five years or so has been in 5 different facilities within the area of 2 counties. I'm here to say Jefferson Health Care Center , It's staff, Care, Directors, Activates and Management are second to none among them all ! Now with that being said, NO WHERE is going to be perfect for our likes. Even the Best of the Best are going to have hiccups & have their bad days. Management brings their A game when it comes to employees not meeting Jeff standers. I've seen them come & go in the blink of of an eye over the past year & months. But I'm here to say Jeff is a step above the rest and do their best to set the bar. My mother loves it there. It's not home, but it's where she needs to be for her care which I am responsible for. I personally give them 5 stars based on the S%itholes out there that honestly should be shut down. I 100% would recommend JHCC.nFull Dis-closer : I do Not nor have I ever worked for Jefferson. I do Not have nor ever had a family member or spouse that worked or works for Jefferson. Just a happy family member of an elderly resident/Patient. Hats off Jeff ; )

Nursing, physical Therepist were great. 1st only only rehab that I’ve ever been to. Rehabbing for broken leg and they all made the experience so much easier.
