Being sued by a NON PROFIT HOSPITAL for a bill my insurance would have paid ironic they are non profit but they are willing to go to court over money....not to mention its during a pandemic like any of us can afford it while not working as much......

This is not a review of medical care, per se. Freeman's has been adequate, if uninspired.nnThis review is about their corporate medicine view of patients. Freeman is a nightmare to deal with and totally indifferent to patient's needs beyond trying not to get sued or bothered by those pesky sick people.nnI have been trying to get my husband in for testing sooner than Freeman's scheduling of this particular type of test 6-8 months in the future. I found a facility 2 & 1/2 hours away and got a referral who could do it sooner. Then I found a facility closer that could do it only a month in the future. Freeman doctors refuse to give a second referral! Too much bother, I guess. Talk about Death Panels!nnWhen I complained to the doctor's office, they told me to go find another doctor if I didn't like their service. Thanks, I think I will.

Mercy hospital was abusive in my opinion, I went in with pneumonia and had a substance in my blood that wasnt prescribed to me, mercy threw me out on my head. Freeman has never made me feel less than or undeserving of medical treatment. I've been in the ER many times during this lung problem I'm having. I've also been admitted more than once. I love the ER staff!! My elderly mother also was admitted. The nurses aide that she had did not take good care of her. We spoke with I believe the person in charge of the entire 5th floor and she got right on the problem and it was resolved. No matter where you go or your elderly go, dont be afraid to talk about your issues. Every facility wants what's best for us, they count on us to let them know what they do right and what isnt going right. Thank you Freeman West

ER Admin desk with chest pain, in cath lab within 15 minutes. 6 - 10 care professionals working on me fast and furious. ER doc says you are having a heart attack and we have to act quickly. A lot is going to happen and happen fast. I do not have time to explain it all but we are going to take amazing care of you. On to cath lab in a rush. Cath lab team also great! Dr. Frank Kim walked next to my gurney telling me exactly what was happening and what he would be doing to me. Woke up in CVICU to the greatest team of nurses. Professional, compassionate and comforting. Now the TVs in CVICU are from 1980 but when they are saving your life who cares about a big flat screen? I do feel it is worth mentioning only because those TVs look like the dark ages and that isn't too cool these days. Freeman can no doubt afford to upgrade in CVICU. You get to the floor and things change because...hey they saved you and now you no longer need that critical care. Compassion is still important and somewhere between CVICU and the care floor that is lost. So grateful to those nurses on heart team who understand who they are and why they are nurses!!! Dr. Frank Kim is a wonderful addition to the Joplin medical community. If your heart is broken he will fix it physically but also emotionally because he understands who he is and how important he is to lives of his patients!
