Do yourself a favor and find a better doctor. There are too many good ones out there to waste time with docs who treat you like you're wasting theirs.nI saw Dr Barnard who clearly couldn't care less about my concerns. The man interrupted me about 5 times when he thought he heard enough (maybe I'd understand if I was one of those people who talk so much you can't get a word in, but I'm not and I wasn't). I called my wife after and she said she had a different doctor at this same office but the same experience.nOn the plus side, the nurses and techs were awesome.

Completely rushed through the appointment. Went in because I’m passing a kidney stone and I’m terrible pain. Offered no medicine to help with pain management and they told me to pass the stone naturally or go back to the emergency room! Are you effing kidding me??nnI don’t know if you know what’s it’s like to pass a kidney stone but Ibuprofen just doesn’t cut it. In and out as fast as possible and didn’t care that I was in severe pain.

I have taken all three of my daughters here for about 12 years. I always request a certain Dr for our well check ups. Our insurance was changing soon and I wanted to get my daughters well check up done before it switched so I took an appointment with a Dr we have never seen before. That Dr was Amanda J Martin at Raintree Pediatrics. My daughter went in for a 14 year old physical/check up. I was asked the most invasive questions I have ever been asked. She asked what kind of milk we drank and told me I needed to switch to skim. When my daughter said she sometimes doesn’t eat breakfast she told her she needed to always eat something even if its small. Asked what she normally drinks daily, when she said orange juice she said to make sure she doesn’t drink OJ every day as it has a lot of sugar in it. I was thinking, “am I at a dietitian appointment?” But whatever, I can ignore that stuff. At the end of the appointment Dr Martin said “at this age I like to ask them questions without a parent present” and asked me if I could step out of the room. Again, I’m thinking “my older daughter wasn’t asked things in private when she was 14” but this wasn’t our normal Dr we love and go to, but whatever, I guess it’s okay. I stepped out for about a minute and a half in the hallway. Then the appointment was done. Of course I’m curious what she said so I asked my daughter when we get home. She told me Dr Martin asked if there was anything going on at home that she can’t say in front of me. Asked if she had seen the health videos in school. Asked if she knew where babies come from. And then was asked if she was attracted to boys or girls. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? I was so upset I called the office the next morning crying. I wish I could go back in time and stand up to Dr Martin and say “NO! I WILL NOT STEP OUT OF THIS ROOM”!!!! I understand there are kids out there who are afraid and need to be asked CERTAIN questions away from their parents. But I do not feel any child should be asked if they are attracted to boys or girls at a health check up. What does that have to do with her physical health? Why is that thought even being put into her mind? THAT IS NOT OKAY!!!!! And I will NOT be taking my older girls back here. I will be going to a different Dr for them from now on. I will still take my younger daughter to her NORMAL Dr we have loved for years. But I will NEVER be seen by Dr Martin again. I wish I could go back in time but I can’t and so I am doing what I can to help save another mom from being upset over something like this.

I waited on hold to schedule a well check for my kids over an hour today. When I finally got a live person I could have jumped for joy. Let’s just say she did not sound equally happy to hear from me. About 30 seconds into the call we were mysteriously disconnected as I tried to explain what I needed. No one even attempted to call me back (even though I have given them all of our contact numbers every time I come in to the office). I called back again and waited hoping to speak to someone long enough to schedule. After waiting another 20 minutes I gave up.nnExtremely frustrating. My two kids have gone here since birth and today I got them a set up with a new pediatrician. It was the last straw. I have had several bad experiences here over the years but I always let it go because of the convenience of urgent care options and their various locations. I can’t even credit them with that anymore.nnI called preferred pediatrics (Affiliate of children’s mercy) and was immediately speaking to a human with no automated system at all. She was kind and helped me add my kids as new patients and I wondered why I didn’t do this years ago.nnAt one point I had taken my daughter in repeatedly for a sore throat and general bad feelings, only for them give her antibiotics and send us off. Years later a blood test showed she had had mono at some point. Another time she suffered with similar symptoms over and over and we got little to no help, I took her to an ENT on my own and sure enough her tonsils looked awful and we had them taken out. She’s had no throat issues in the years since. WHY DIDNT HER PEDIATRICIAN SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THAT?nnThis office has gotten so big that individual patient care is lost. I really liked some of the Nurse practitioners here but we will never be back.

I am so disappointed with this office. The rudest thing you can do for a client is not respect their time! I started coming here when my son was born 5 years ago. Now every time we go or I speak to the office it’s a headache. If you have a scheduled appointment you will be seen late. Doesn’t matter how early you are. If you have a question for the nurses line you will wait a minimum of 20 minutes on hold to speak to someone. If this was a one time thing I would understand, but it has been this way for over a year. Wish they would do better to respect everyone else’s busy schedule as much as their own.
