The place is pretty cool on the inside. They have booths that are set up to mimic jail cells. The beer and food were both good. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive, without over checking in. My one complaint was that i was not given a choice of how I wanted my burger cooked. It came well done and was a bit dry. Normally I get my burgers medium well to avoid that. I am unsure if they cook all of there burgers to well or if the server forgot to ask my preference.
Food was good. Service was good. We ate outside and the weather was perfect. Someone blew chunks right next to our table. It was cleaned up quickly. The bleach smell was pretty strong for a bit. People were playing Bocce and they were having a good time.
I want to preface this review by saying that I have been a server at a busy restaurant and so I know the ins-and-outs of how the food industry works and how difficult of a job it can be. The public are generally good but about 20% are incompetent, lack awareness and are entitled. I totally get this.nnIt seems possible that the night we came, the restaurant was short on staff... However, this isn't a reasonable excuse as to why any guest should sit at a table for 20-25 min without a single person approaching them, especially since I saw the host sitting down a few times. There were definitely staff who noticed and if you're a hostess(or host) you can certainly at least take a drink order, every restaurant I ever worked at it was pretty common for the hostess or host to take a drink order or even refill drinks if the servers were busy.- this is something called teamwork. A little self-awareness will inevitably take you a lot further than if you have none. I also want to say it wasn't even that busy when I was there, about 2/3 of the tables were filled when we arrived and only about 1/3 were by the time our food arrived.nnSo, after waiting over 20 minutes for someone to finally come to our table, the server was definitely already defeated knowing that we had just sat there for such a long period of time and their attitude displayed this, they knew they weren't going to get a huge tip so they went on being subpar... honestly, again because I have worked in this industry, it could have easily been redeemed just by not acting like we were a burden. I would have 100% tipped you just as I would have had the wait not been so long if your attitude wasn't bad and your efforts were more sincere. I didn't expect you to kiss my [redacted] but just to be decent. I actually ended up feeling like if I had shown how unhappy I was, that your attitude would have gotten even worse so I walked on eggshells trying to not have a confrontation with you. It's time to buck up, you can't act like this in the service industry. We were kind and patient despite the circumstances even though we should have been mad but instead, you acted mad. This job will always have struggles but you can't let things get to this point, not in the service industry where attitude is everything. It's also so important to move with a sense of urgency and not walk like you're on a casual stroll. I'm not saying you need to sprint, I already said what I said- urgency, that is all.nnNow, I feel bad for having to leave this kind of review because the food was very good. I would have loved to have tried some of your brews but I wasn't given a drink menu and didn't want to wait 30 more minutes to receive one. So, I definitely think the kitchen staff are doing something right, if this was just about the food I would have given you 5 stars.nnIn short, my server 0 of 5 stars(did I forget mention that the server messed up our food order, too?), the food 5 of 5.nnOne day I really want to try this place again but it's going to be awhile because like so many people I live in a rural community and had to drive over 20 miles to even get here so next time when I want to eat somewhere, I will have to choose one of the other local breweries where I have yet to have a bad experience so I don't waste my time.nnI hope I can change this to a positive review in the future!
Stopped here for lunch on our way home from the Lake. The food was delicious! We got the tenderloin, mac n cheese, buffalo chicken wrap, and tater tots and we're very happy with all of it! Our server (I believe his name was Taylor) was great! We will definitely recommend this place to others and try to come back again.
Oh man! You guys! If you are ever in the Jefferson City, MO area, please do your taste buds a favor and go to Prison Brews! They have 7 delicious brews on tap. We got the sampler and shared it so we could taste them all. YUM! :-D Everything we tasted food and drink-wise was delicious. The best Reuben I have tried. On top of that, the staff and manager were all SO nice! Truly wonderful, caring, nice to talk to people.
