Kansas Surgery & Recovery Center

Just got my hernia repaired here and had a great experience. Everyone was very kind and everything was very thorough. If I ever need another surgery I will be choosing this facility.

Although the care was very good and the staff was friendly, be aware that they will tell you information before your surgery that is inaccurate regarding your pre-payment of surgery. I was told in a phone call a couple of days before surgery AND when I checked in, that I would be paying my deductible on my insurance and then would not be expected to pay any other bills regarding the surgery from anyone. I was also told that if I received any other bills to let those billing me know that I had paid my deductible and shouldn't have to pay anything else. They told me to have them contact Kansas Surgery and Recovery if they had questions. When I got a bill from a separate anesthesia firm, I told them this and they wanted a letter stating what Kansas Surgery and Recovery said. I called KSR about the letter and was told that they shouldn't have told me this and they were separate and apart from anyone else who may have billed me. So, they took a chunk of money from me that I may have needed to cover other bills. Thank goodness insurance didn't need the whole deductible and they were going to issue a refund of some of it, which would cover most of the anesthesia bill. I've never had a problem with any other surgery center, nor have I been asked to pay my entire deductible before surgery. I would have preferred to make payments to them instead. Beware because not everything you're told is accurate and I will think twice before letting them facilitate my surgery again!

The surgery and recovery center is amazing. The staff is very professional, friendly, and welcoming. They were there for my every need. And as a bonus the food was very good. Not typical hospital food. The facility is very clean and the room was spacious. The pt staff was very informative as they put me to the test. What more could I ask for.
