Newport Grill

Posting this a week after going to Newport Grill. First off, very nice place. I felt like I was under dressed, but I had just traveled over 700 miles and didn't care what I was wearing. The menu was pretty good, and they were doing a Hawaiian theme, so there were some specials as well. I went for the ribeye and my son had the Alaskan Cod. We also had the crab cakes for an appetizer. The bread and butter were good, the crab cakes were tasty - though a little small. The steak was too rare for me when it came out, but it was thick, and prepared properly for a rare fan, I just happen to not be a fan of less than medium well (a travesty I know!). The Cod was excellent as well as all of the sides. I don't hold the steak against anyone since I am kind of particular, and they fixed it right up for me. All in all a great place.nnAs always, I rate stars as follows: 1- not good all around, 2- some good value, but pretty common and nothing stood out, 3- a solid choice all around, 4- one of my favorites, 5- a great experience all around and very unique for the area. Absolutely a must when in Wichita! I came for flight training as a pilot and gave it a chance for dinner. Awesome clam chowder and fish. Do not miss it’s fine dining. In front of a beautiful artificial lake.

My husband and I frequently travel. We greatly enjoy fine dining. We like to order shrimp cocktail as a way to judge how good a restaurant is. We’ve been on the east and west coasts and in various countries. We have yet to find better seafood than Newport...in Kansas lol. Do not underestimate Newport just because it’s in the middle of KS. The food is flown in fresh, The Chef, the staff and the atmosphere are top notch! The patio view is stunning.nTheir lunches and cocktail hours are filling, fine, and easily affordable. They also do catering and private events. I’ve attended both types and like I said before, top notch.

quality meals and the atmosphere at this place is great. This place will surprise you. Service is typically great. The prices are fair for the quality of food. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.

Quality Meals... super satisfying. you won't be disappointed in the menu and service. the prices are good for what you get.
