Absolutely love Jack stack and this location is great. I have been to a couple others and this one is very nice. They just remodeled the entire building and it's amazing. Great food as always. I can't seem to order anything other than the half pound Hatfield with choice of two meats and usually get beef and pork. They're spicy sauce is really good with some heat but not overwhelming. I can't stand it when a barbecue place has nothing but sweet sauce or sauce with barely any flavor and then one that tastes like fire ud83dude02ud83dude02. All three of their flavors are delicious. The last time my fiance and I and his daughter and my daughter were there we got the giant brownie with ice cream that took all four of us to eat it.

Let me start with the service & actual quality, cleanliness, ingredients and cook were absolutely wonderful. But the preparation, seadoning, flavor and execution in the kitchen is very one note. This has been a once a year or so splurge for many years. We go all out, apps, drinks and whatever sounds good. We loved the little nook seating under the Gable picture by the fireplace.nnIf I had never been here before I would like the remodel ( Kudos on the restyled parking lot!) but the interior feels...less warm & unique now. It does offer good seating & flow for staff though.nnThe ingredients are high quality but the final product has lost some of it's depth & character. Like a well used & seasoned cast iron skillet. Unfortunately the smoke doesn't reach bone deep anymore, the pit beans had a generic quality and changing out for fancy sweet pickles didn't bring the sharp acerbic bite as the old dill ones.nnIt may be growing pains and eventually the smoke pit will churn out the deep smooth flavor in a few years. Then we will order takeout but without the kitschy homey atmosphere and change in flavor it feels like going to the KC Masterpiece restaurant on the Plaza in 2000.nnOur server was amazing though, a delight!

Excellent KC BBQ! One of our favorite restaurants in the KC area and a must visit for out-of-town family and friends. Our server, Michelle was professionally courteous and attentive, making our visit most enjoyable. Thanks, to the entire Jack Stack Team. BTW - We loved the newly remodeled dining room and, the life size bull statute in KC Chiefs' football colors. Well done. ud83dudc4d

Jack Stack Martin City is newly remodeled and opened in August. The restaurant's atmosphere is very intimate and cozy. We ate on the terrace which is us equally as nice. The weather was perfect today.nnOur server was excellent and very attentive. The food was delicious from the ribs to smoked brisket. The burnt ends are the best around. As usual the corn and beans are amazing. The food is better than Q39's and you get so much more for your money, plus a better atmosphere.nnI recommend it to all anytime. Especially to Kansas City visitors.
