Go here. You'll love it. We walked past one evening and just wanted to pop in for a drink, thinking it would be just a typical little bar...but we were so pleasantly surprised. We loved the atmosphere immediately!! Low lighting with candles, not too loud, LOVE the decor and overall cool feeling of this awesome cocktail bar. I'm hesitant to even leave a review because I loved it so much that I want to keep it all to myself! The cocktails were perfect. My fiance and I will definitely be back. The food looked great too but we had just eaten. Highly recommend John Brown Underground!
Went here on a date with my husband and it was an amazing experience. The waiter had a very strong knowledge of the drinks on the menu; the recipes as well as the background knowledge on what they are named and why. Very interesting! They do mix them a bit strong, though, jn my opinion. The atmosphere is intimate. A great place to get lost for awhile. The food is spectacular. Fresh ingredients, made from scratch. I would recommend JBU to anyone.
JBU is the premier establishment in Lawrence to grab a delicious craft cocktail with a few friends. The rustic decór, intimate space, and dim lighting create a phenomenal ambience about the place, and the food is top notch. I rarely go elsewhere when I'm in town.
