Cool mural aside, Bartender's Handshake is incredibly safe and taking social distancing very seriously. You have to have a reservation and seating is outside only. They keep making the same amazing cocktails. Try their take on jello shots and slushies or step outside your comfort zone and try a cocktail with ingredients you've never heard of.

Tried this place out for the first time a few weeks ago. Absolutely love coming across spots like this. Great drinks, cool patio, friendly service. Just not your everyday bar/restaurant. We will be back.

It was a very HOT night with old lawn chairs, social distancing, help wearing masks and great drinks! I loved it! ❤

My favorite place in all of Des Moines! Quality craft cocktails, delicious vegetarian small plates, and mid-mod decor — must I say more? I’m obsessed with every menu item and everything is modestly priced (considering the quality!!!). They also compost and recycle with minimal waste, MY HEART!nnGive this place a try, you won’t regret it!nn(Also must add, they are taking every measure to protect customers and staff for covid safety!)
