So good that I am writing this review before leaving the parking lot! Honestly the BEST breakfast I have ever had, and I’ve traveled a lot. If I lived here I would come far more often than I choose to admit! Highest recommendation I have ever rated a restaurant.
Edit to original review two years ago when I (first) gave them 5 stars---And I'd do it again! After living in Iowa City for 4 years, the Huevos Epstinos are still my favorite plate in Iowa City. 100% my go-to place when I'm back visiting.nnLOVE Bluebird! It’s my go-to place when friends and family visit. Don’t remember the name, but the breakfast entree with the polenta, beef, and over-easy egg is to die for!
Bluebird Diner is an absolute gem in downtown Iowa City. Bonus, there is ample street parking and a lot adjacent to the building. They have delicious omelets (Krakatoa!), and entree specials. Our kids LOVE Bluebird because they can get pancakes any time of day. Gluten free options are plentiful, celic-safe, and excellent service. Highly recommend! Make sure you grab a bag of their coffee for next weekend. It's delicious. ALSO, THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE PANCAKES.
Delish breakfast sandwiches, it was a good meal while we road trip, unfortunately they forgot forks for the hash browns and napkins but we made do. Curbside pickup was fast and easy.
Great diner. Great food and even better employees! Love this place.
