I’m very glad to see another aquarium store in town. We don’t have much luck keeping them around and I hope this one lasts. The shop owner is a very friendly and knowledgeable man. They carry an impressive array of aquatic animals include the more mundane critters. For example finding a simple, crayfish was impossibly hard to find before this shop opened.nExpect to pay more for feeder guppies though.
The owner of this place was super helpful and friendly. You can tell he cares about this hobby and his customers a lot.
September 12, 2020, just walked in to get some snails and hermits, owner was not wearing a mask. Sitting with an elderly gentleman who also was not wearing a mask. I went back to the saltwater area assuming that when he came to help, he would dawn one. No such luck. In fact, a worker appeared from the back room, walked less then 1 foot behind by me (i.e. small shop with poor air circulation) was also not wear a mask. Iowa City has one of the highest per capita COVID infection rates in the country. I will never shop at this store again. I would recommend anyone with concern for their health and the health of people around them avoid at all costs.
Great place, amazing service but extremely unstable hours. I’ve tried to go into this place around 1PM, 5 separate times and it has been closed each time. Slightly frustrating. Please update your hours
Answered questions the internet would not answer for me. Has wide variety of fish and tons of information about planted tanks. I will go here for all my aquarium needs.
