I couldn't be more impressed by the staff and pharmacy at this hospital! Thank you Dr. Mauriello for all the care you provided my son while in the hospital but also the care after. You answered all of my questions and always had a genuine concern for my son's health. All of the staff at this hospital and pharmacy went above and beyond to help during this difficult time for our family. Thank you.

Going through one of the scariest times in my family's lives Sandford staff was there at the door as soon as my daughter and I got off the helicopter. As scary as it all was with the fast pace care and all the different personnel I was greater with a woman from the child life program. She helped me understand that there will be several staff members in and out working fast to be able to get the full extent of my baby's injuries. We received wonderful care and am so very thankful. From the ER staff all the way to Peds ICU and Peds, we cannot thank you enough.

My experience with the hospital was affectively unpleasant. From the start, the receptionist received me, my wife, and son with a negative attitude. I informed her my son is very sick, not eating since Tuesday (we are now in Saturday in the ER). She sent us to wait in the lobby. After 15 minutes I went and talked to her of the possibility of making him see the doctor soon since it was so slow and he was very uncomfortable. All of a sudden, the receptionist turned into a nurse or a doctor telling us that he is fine since she saw him walking and smiling. You will see the doctor in 20 minutes. It was then 8:45. The nurse called us at 10:15, so the receptionist straightforwardly lied to us with full disrespect. At 10:15 we were called by the nurse to go inside to see the doctor. We waited from 10:15 until 11:45 with no doctor. We decided to leave. An administrative came asking me to sign to charge the insurance. No mention or consideration for the child but for the money. Very inhumane and inconsiderate treatment!!!

Our daughter was admitted to the Sanford PICU with a case of Duodenal Atresia that went uncaught for a few days after her birth.nI cannot speak highly enough of Sanford’s PICU staff, they were able to keep a calm and positive disposition through very stressful situations, and in addition to giving our daughter top-notch care, saw to it that my husband and I were able to comfortably stay with her during that time; providing basic toiletries, a breast pump & breastmilk storage, laundry upkeep, etc.nEach room has a cot, recliner, bathroom, TV, and adequate storage for parents to move in for a while. Just down the hall there is a kitchenette stocked with beverages & snacks, (the main floor has several restaurants and a spacious dining area for more substantial meals).nAlso nearby is a family room with another kitchenette, TV and seating.nNear the elevators on the 9th (children’s) floor is Cully’s Cabin— the ultimate playroom for people of all ages! That and the Child Life Care staff proved to be very helpful when our active two-year-old daughter came to visit; there are gobs of toys, board games, crafts, DVDs, books, video games... Even Grandpa found a Pac-Man-type game from his era!nHaving a child in the NICU/PICU is an awful experience, but the nurses, doctors & behind-the-scenes staff at Sanford made it as easy as it could be; they are truly wonderful, happy and unique people that work hard saving lives day and night.nThanks to the skill and state-of-the-art technology at Sanford, our daughter is now a happy 6 month old!
