Went into Canton CT Clarks Fri 9-7-18 at 8:30 pm. Woman behind counter said “Hello” when I walked in. I replied “Hi-how are you?”—no answer. I was looking for a shoe that my daughter needs for band. Looked at several shoes--I was the only person in store and not once did the saleswoman offer assistance. I coughed a couple of times (mouth closed) while leaving and into my sleeve outside. In car, i asked my daughter to go in to see shoes. I saw the saleswoman walk around the store spraying from a can—when I went back in with my daughter, there was no greeting and the store smelled strongly of Lysol. My daughter/I looked at the shoes & the saleswoman remained behind counter looking at papers, no offer to assist. We went back to car & saw the next customer go in—the salesperson approached that customer, was interactive the whole time, and stood nearby with hands behind her back like a professional server. Maybe due to my easily wrinkled shirt or flower bandana (worn for temporary medical hair thinning), the salesperson deemed that I was too inferior to assist or couldn't afford to shop there and that my presence or minimal coughing required spraying the store with Lysol. Whatever the reason, imagining that you're superior to decent people is pretty low class.

A small shoe store with most helpful/professional staff. The have a wide variety of men's and women's shoes and boots. I have found well made leather chukka boots and dress shoes for reasonable prices. Worth a visit if you are looking for real leather shoes, belts and related items.

Comfiest pair of shoes I've ever worn. Seriously.

I payed $170 dollars for a pair of shoes and the sales women was going to give me the shoes that were on display (basically second hand) and probably worn and tested by hundreds of people. The shoes also had minor scratches and loose stitchings, not impressed Clark’s. Fortunately I had the shoes ordered to me from a wherehouse. Still not the kind of experience you expect when your paying so much for a pair of shoes.
