Due to a lung cancer, I have been having x-rays of many kinds at Stamford Hospital for the past three years. The reception staff in Radiology is efficient, very warm and friendly. I have seen a couple of techs over time, each one very nice, but my favorite is Jim. I’m told by my doctor that he’s very skilled at his work but the best for me is that he’s so caring and friendly, and even fun that I hope he’s on duty when I’m there and I’m always so glad when he is!nnI have had only good experiences at Stamford Hospital - reception, radiology, admitting, nurses, doctors, and my surgeon and am eternally grateful for their care and their restoring of my good health!! Thanks to you all!!
This is the absolute worst hospital they just care about the bottom line. When I had a hysterectomy I was sent home that same day and the only thing they were giving me for pain was Tylenol. The anesthesiologist was absolutely horrendous. I had given her specific instructions how I wanted to be handled and .she disregarded everything. One of my best friend's father Patrick Colangelo Used to be CFO of this hospital and it was run so different then they had compassion. I have left several messages even we're in a letter on how just satisfied I was with the service and no one has ever gotten back to me that just shows they don't care about patience just look at all their reviews. If you live in the area go to Greenwich hospital were they care and treat you like a human being
HORRIBLE PLACE!! Don’t do it. We were convinced it was best to transfer my mother to their rehab center after hip surgery innHSS. We trusted it was best with her medication and records being all in one place—-HUGE MISTAKE!!nNurses make up information that is not true; all of her medication information never transferred through; they left her unattended for 5 hours after transferring her to the rehab facility; nurses desk never answers the phone; Lobby receptionist is non compassionate and power freak-I was stuck in traffic and arrived at the lobby desk at 5:10 to drop off my mothers clothing, as requested for rehab, and the young, noncompassionate, receptionist would not allow me to at least drop the bag off to see my mother and check on her welfare after a terrible first night in rehab. I work FT and am not from the CT area-the visiting hours from 1-5 are not conducive. I took three days off from work for my mother’s surgery, I could not take another one. Receptionist would not allow me to see my mother after driving up. I asked for 5 minutes only.nnThere is a voicemail at the nurses station that no one ever calls you back. Rehab operates like a nursing home.nNo one cares. They gave my mother the wrong medicine. We should have gone to Burke-what a mistake we made. I plan on escalating this further.nSTAY AWAY!!!
My five year old was brought to this hospital and it was absolutely the most horrible experience ever! I received a call that he was cut with a knife and being rushed to the hospital. As a mother I dropped everything and drove 30 minutes to get to him. Once I got there I asked if I could go to him. I was told no because someone was already back there with him. I asked if they left could I then go back there and was still told no. Trying to remain calm I explained that all I knew was he was cut. Didnt know how deep or anything and if the nurse as I mother would understand. As I mother we want eyes on our babies not word of mouth. The nurse agree to understand what I was saying said she would check, left and never returned until the end. No one cared to help or even have a bit of empathy. My cousin who was with me talked to the nurse who told her that he had just finished getting stitches and would be out shorty. I was standing outside the hospital talking to my sons father loudly when I was told that they were calling the cops on me and having a social worker come get my child because I was loud and treating staff. Mind you I had not said a word to them since asking to go back there to my child. Cops came out along with extra fake security. THEY continued to threaten to take my child and follow me outside and around the parking lot trying to get me to talk. At this point I was beyond mad and filled with tears from anger. Never did I threaten staff only tried to see my child so no I had absolutely not one word for them. Hours later after my cousin was told he was done and coming out I still hadn’t seen my child but the staff that I was accused of threaten of threaten was gathered together growing, laughing and talking with no care in the world. The office even told me how he himself was back there comforting my child as if he was his parent! The anger and fear I felt that day was at its max! I wouldn’t wish it on anyone well except them.
The staff was wonderful but I give it 3 out of 5 stars due to parking. I took myself to the Emergency Room at Stamford Hospital due to my doctors being from the same hospital to spend 6 hours there and then have to pay for parking. Patients shouldn’t be charged for parking, especially since you are at the mercy of how many people are there and whether or not they decide to keep you overnight and how long the wait is for specific testing. My local hospital does not charge for parking for emergency room patients, it’s as if Stamford Hospital is penny pinching.
