After driving my elderly mother all the way down to Danbury, we were told that Alvaro's no longer deals in orthopedic shoes. Apparently he still does shoe repairs, though. So this isn't a review, but rather a 'public service notice' so people wanting custom ortho shoes won't drive all the way over there,needlessly. (I tried suggesting he update his website to let people know, but he became a tad unfriendly when I did, Perhaps we caught him in a bad mood.) Too give him the benefit of the doubt & show him there are no hard feelings (on my end, anyway), I gave him & his little shoppe '5 stars'. :)
Mr. and Mrs. Alvaro are the most wonderful people and their service is absolutely amazing. I have been using their services since 2004 and refuse to go to anyone else. The quality if Mr. Alvaro's workmanship is amazing and has saved many a pair of my shoes and boots over the years. I recommend Mr. Alvaro's shoe services to everyone.
I've had 3 pair of shoes repaired there over the last year. Their work is exemplary and they are wonderful people!
The Alvaro's are the shop we have used since coming to Danbury 37 years ago. He recently repaired a household item that needed to be resown with a heavy duty sewing machine... Would have to throw the item out if Mr Alvaro wasn't kind enough to do this for me. Thank you.
