Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York

The daytime staff and rehab is excellent. The night staff leaves much to be desired. I found that it was faster for me to get up and out on my own, after excessively long waits whe hitting the call button. Im not sur if the nite crew is understaffed or just dont care.

I truly didn't know what to expect. I had hip replacement surgery, have several autoimmune diseases, and was going to a new home where I knew no one. It was agreed that a few more days of therapy would be very helpful for me.nnI had a roommate, which I wasn't expecting, but she understood when I told her I needed quiet time. I was told there would be THREE hours of therapy each day ud83dude2e, which I wasn't sure about, but the therapists were amazing..... Not one Mistress of pain in the bunch.nnI was encouraged to do as much as I could, but never felt coerced in any way. It was incredibly effective therapy, so that when I left after one week, I felt confident in my ability to care for myself capably and safely.nnThe nursing staff were efficient, kind, and went above and beyond so many times that I was amazed. Nurses and techs worked in sync to give a fabulous level of care. No request went unacknowledged, and if permitted, was always fulfilled.nnThe food service was really very good. Preparing food for so many people is not an easy task, so whoever was cooking down there is an absolute magician! I ordered fish that was so good that I wish it had been offered again. Many desserts and entree foods are actually made in the kitchen. Tossed salad I chose every day, because it had color and crunch. Just incredible.nnI could continue, but will stop. Suffice to say that if I ever require rehabilitation again, I know where to go. Thank you to EVERYONE at Encompass York. I credit every person there with the wonderful progress I have made since going home.

So far they have been overly welcoming,did not judge anyone and made the transition go very smooth!

I cannot say enough good things about this facility. My mother received the best care from the doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacist, etc. In two short weeks so much improvement! This facility is amazing!

I was an inpatient here during my physical rehabilitation after my 1st total knee replacement surgery done at OSS Hospital in York, PA. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the therapy so needed and beneficial. I hate to see where I'd be now without physical rehabilitation from this hospital, they provide helpful, nice, professional and thorough care.
