I went in Sunday morning for abdominal pain and I was immediately taken back for my weight then to a room. I was greeted by Doctor M (I don't know the correct spelling of his name) and he offered me morphine and to have CT scan done. My nurse Vai was very nice. After awhile, Doctor M came in and told me I had a small kidney stone on the right side. After I was discharged, I went home and continued the pain medications I had at home and felt a little better but still had not passed the stone. On Monday (October 26th) the pain returned and I went back to the ER and was greeted at the registration window as well as one of the nurses named Jenny who was extremely nice. But she did tell me the wait would be awhile, which turned out to be an hour. When I got to a room she triaged me and within a few minutes, she returned with an IV, pain medications and anti-nausea meds. Soon after that Doctor Farr came to see and he couldn't have been nicer. Both he and Dr. M took care of me last year when I had heart issues and sent me to Reno for upgraded care. Both of them, are very professional, kind and courteous. I was also taken care of by another nurse, Tina who was very nice and I know her from church here in Winnemucca. I have to say that the ER staff is much better than before here and I was very impressed with the level of care that I received. Great job HGH.

Went here on a Sunday in January by myself because walk-in clinic was closed. Told me they accepted my health-insurance. It says they are part of my network on Ambetter Silver Sumit website, but then sent me a gigantic bill 6 months later with vague line items and extremely high costs for mostly just sitting there and answering questions. My insurance company would have covered most of the costs but they told me HGH isn't actually in-network despite the information posted. No one explained the extreme cost of any of the services. Wasn't even an intense emergency. Would have just waited for doctor or Walk-In on Monday or driven 70 miles to the next place in network if I had known ahead of time on these costs or network status. There are only 2 insurance providers in all of Nevada. Most doctors even located inside HGH are part of the Ambetter network and I've never had any problems except the ER. How does that provide a good service for a taxpayer funded facility? Extremely disappointing.

Went to the walk in clinic and the black doctor stands by the door and never enters to examine me and asks what's wrong with me, I'm thinking without saying outloud, your the doctor isn't that your job that I pay $3,000 for you to give me the diagnosis? Worst doctor ever even his medical staff talked bad about him behind his back.

I've lived in Winnemucca for 15 years. Used the hospital many times. The improvements in the past 2 years are remarkable. Both the staff in the walk in clinic and the ER have improved immensely. They are caring and knowledgeable. I have heard they are improving their billing department. This is the one area that still needs attention so I hope so.

Apparently, this "hospital" doesn't even know how to handle treatment for a rattlesnake bite, basic care that is known by any MD or RN. A patient died as a direct result of inaction and gross incompetence from the staff, when she should have easily survived.
