Hands down the best VA I have ever been to. From all aspects of the hospital be it physical therapy, the specialty clinic, or my primary care team (silver team you guys are awesome) they have all been above 5 stars. I Honestly do not see how anyone could complain about the quality of care at the Boise va. This is honestly the best healthcare I have ever had in my life va or open market. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I think your fax machine is broken. It had a good long run from the 1990’s; perhaps it time to move on to a computer based system to transmit prescriptions and authorizations. My clinic has now sent 5 faxes that the VA apparently can’t receive or get to the right people. Making it impossible to get care or see a physician.

I've been to many VA hospitals and a few outlaying clinics. Boise VA has been the best thus far.

I have had good experiences other than the fact it took years to allow me to see local physicians as I live over 40 miles away. My last local visit I was told my ID needs updated so I found out that because the local clinic doesn’t have a camera set up, I had to drive to the Boise clinic and have to check in before 4:00pm. I took time off and drove over 40 miles, hit traffic but checked in at 3:56pm and a few minutes later was told his camera doesn’t work, his supervisor doesn’t have access and the one person who has a working camera is allowed to shut hers off at 3:55 when the sign clearly says 4:00. I was told there was nothing they could do. I met their posted requirements and my two hours driving was wasted and it wasn’t a scheduled appointment, not even a mileage reimbursement and they told me I need to make the trip again and check in by 3:55 instead of 3:56 when their sign says 4:00.

May I offer a suggestion? Instead of trying to hospitalize someone dealing with depression and suicide, consider that when they reach out to the VA for support, they may just want a listening ear and a little guidance. Especially in the midst of a pandemic, consider that someone who is socially isolated may just need someone other than their own demons to hear out their pain. Someone who is considering suicide may not be comforted by the thought of being locked up in a hospital for days, even more isolated and surrounded by doctors and medications.nnPlease take the time to take these suggestions seriously. I know there are others like me who feel the same frustrations, and might not share the same level tone. And I wouldn't blame them for being frustrated, either. I've been inside the VA and seen staff trying to convince veterans with serious mental health problems that they need to take another medication and maybe make an appointment for another time. This isn't okay.
