I purchased my beautiful yellow labrador Retriever from here about a month ago. I was very impressed with the manager who helped me with the process (I forget the name but the lady with the labs and retrievers). She was very passionate about the animals and truly wanted every one of them to go to loving homes. I went there just to donate and pet some puppies with my cousin and ended up falling in love with my now pup, Luna. Although, a bit overpriced, puppies are difficult to find currently so I expect they would have been that much. The year long insurance on the puppy is great and I love that they provide ALL paperwork. THESE DOGS COME FROM BREEDERS NOT PUPPY MILLS. I was concerned about this too, but in the paperwork I have all the info on my dog's breeder as well as her parent dogs microchip numbers. Most of there dogs are the pick of the litter, they have brokers who get the dog directly from the breeder. (I know my dog was from upstate PA.) Staff is very responsible; we witnessed a rat attack all the others in the cage and staff was quick to remove the aggressive animal and isolate it. They also will give you a $75 gift card for neutering your puppy and bringing back the paperwork if you purchased the dog from them. Overall, I felt confident getting my puppy from there although very expensive. They told me they add about $2000 on top of what they paid when selling. I am in love with my new baby pupper and she is a great addition to my family!

Three years ago, I purchased a chihuahua puppy here for $1250. I was told he would be about 7lbs full grown. He is now 17 lbs (not obese or overweight, he’s actually very active and loves hiking, he’s just much taller/heavier than your average chihuahua). This leads me to believe it is highly unlikely he is purebred as advertised. Within the first few months of getting him, he had a lot of intestinal issues that I could not seem to fix with diet. I took him to the vet a few times and after multiple tests they discovered he had a Giardia infection which took two rounds of medicine to treat. This is not commonly tested for as they can’t determine from a stool sample, they have to actually swab for a fecal sample. They told me if it didn’t clear up on the second course of medicine they would have to try something different that they really don’t like to use because of side effects but sometimes it is needed for bad infections. At about a year old, he began to have seizures, and while they were infrequent, the length and severity of them resulted on him being put on lifetime medication. I love my dog from The Pet Store and wouldn’t go back and change my decision for anything, but their exponentially increasing rates encouraged me to post because I strongly feel these puppies aren’t always sourced from very good places. My dog’s paperwork said he came from Ohio so definitely not local. Also, he was neutered before being sent to them at barely 8 weeks when he weighed 3 lbs. My vet could not believe this had been done at such a young age and weight and said it could have killed him.

We had been searching to a Rottweiler puppy for a long time until we finally got the call from The Pet Store that they had just gotten in a boy & that same day we went to see in & right away knew he was our new baby. His name is Nova & he arrived to complete our family. The staff is amazing & extremely helpful.

I recently purchased the love of my life! My sweet Boston Terrier, from this store. I had concerns about the slander you see towards any typical pet shop, so i reached out to them. They were able to give me all the information I wanted on my puppy and her breeder, told me all the requirements and safety measures that went into place to making sure all of their breeders are NEVER puppy mills or “hobby breeders.” They told me where all of this information is public record, etc, and how thoroughly vetted all of their breeders are. Even said my pup’s specific breeder only had one super minuscule mishap, the doggy doors were an INCH too tall from the ground in 2016, and said it was corrected the very next day. How funny is that? Shows how strict these places are vetted and put my mind at SO much ease. I am so satisfied with the customer service and care for making sure they do not support un ethical practices and (when i have the budget LOL) I will probably find another amazing puppy for our home at this shop! I also always support adoption from animal shelters, which is why I love this store- they support the local no kill shelters with the small donations to socialize their pups! We bought my daughter’s Papillon from The Pet Store over a month ago and we love her so much. Lady is healthy and the perfect dog for our family. She was obviously well cared for before we got her, and the staff were very helpful throughout the purchasing process and provided documentation about her breeders and health records up to that date.nThis is the third pet we have purchased from them and they have all been healthy and great purchases.
