The treatment here is absolutely humiliating and cruel. More than one nurse laughed in my face while I was supposed to be receiving psychiatric care, one accused me of lying about my condition, and another made taunting comments at me when I expressed frustration over the care I was receiving. The doctors seem generally uninterested in what you have to say and don't take complaints of pain or distress seriously.nnI once heard screaming in the ER that was met by resounding laughter from the nurse's station.nnIf you want/need hospital care, go to the Mission or Vancouver hospitals. This place will kill you.

I have to say, I have been talked down to here by much of the staff and the treatment has at often times has been appalling and hurtful.nnBut psychiatrists Dr. Khan and Dr. Zia Haque are so very compassionate and supportive. They are skilled in their profession and make sure you are heard and get the knowledge you need to improve your health, and feel supported. Very thorough and sympathetic doctors.nnIn regards to medical doctors, I have met some amazing ones who truly care, but unfortunately this has not always been the case during my visits. Most nurses didn't seem to care at all, except for the rare few caring ones. Saw some people suffering a lot who were relatively helpless, and the nurses were so cold and acted as if helping a weak and in pain patient for 1 minute was the most horrible and burdensome thing to do. It crushed my heart. Standards need to go way up, everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and given equal care. Cheers for the amazing Doctors, but shame on those who get away with what they can, and the ones who passively allow it, or participate in it.

Husband had heart attack and recovery after quadruple bypass in 2014 ... and a few years later a hip replacement. I was admitted for 12 days in 2019 and every stay we had excellent care. ER is always a bit stressful, but as they have to triage, what we see is not first in, first served but again, we always got excellent care.

I was treated good. It took like 4-5 hours to see doctor, and it was well worth it. The blonde nurse was really nice and very pretty.
