Update 24 Sep 2020 - went to School House again for a birthday dinner. Staff were courteous and social distancing seemed to be in place (masks on except when eating/drinking, queues for the loo, etc.) Expanded dining area on sidewalk/patio area made this easier as well. Food was good as always. Well done, School House.nnNice restaurant for a breakfast, brunch or lunch in the heart of Old Arvada. Just a quick 2-3 minute walk from the venue of the weekend Farmer's market. Menu has a decent selection of items to choose, but the service was slow during my visit (5 adults, 1 cold) and left something to be desired.

Look at this ice cream sandwich. And apparently JFK liked Bloody Mary’s. What a guy

Impressive assortment of Bourbon and Whiskey, but the staff was a little weak on service (considering reduced capacity due to COVID-19). My first example is the waitress basically gave me a blank stare when I told her I liked Manhattan's and asked for a recommendation for a Kentucky Straight Bourbon on that drink. I told her what Bourbon's Iiked (Eagle Rare, Maker's 46, Woodford Reserve) and what I didn't like (Bulleit, Knob Creek, Breckenridge) etc... and that I just wanted to try something new, in that same drink. It seemed like she had no ideas while standing on front of a wall of Bourbon. My only requirement was that it was a Kentucky Straight, not a Rye. I asked about an Elijah Craig and what that tasted like, and she had no idea. The server eventually pointed something out on the wall, basically just saying that it seemed to her like quite a few people liked that one, and to speed up the process I just went with it. It was actually a pretty good drink, but the ordering experience just took the fun out of our first visit here by not having a well versed server in what different Bourbon's tasted like. On a different note the food was very tasty and came out quickly after ordering. While eating we also attempted to make conversation with the bartender (specifically about two side by side pencils in the bar top that were out of place amongst the bigger pattern of thousands of pencils) and he didn't seem to have time to speak to us. It did seem like it was shift change time and he was trying to complete his closing duties before leaving... But again, that experience kind of took the fun out of going to this place. In the end... If you like Bourbon and Whiskey, and you know what kind you want to drink... This is a great place to come. Just don't expect any suggestions, or conversation, from the afternoon staff.

This is a spot to check out for sure! The vibe is more chic than you might think given the name, but it's still chill too. The food is GREAT. You can do all sorts of customization in the build a dish section, and the drinks are just as good. Try the poutine with candied bacon. It doesn't disappoint. The service is top notch too. My server, Brynn, was really friendly and made things right when there was a miscommunication about my order. It should be said again, this place is GREAT! GO! GO! GO!
