The food was amazing. We had the tacos and tried a variety of them and every single one of them were unique and delicious. We also had the chips and guacamole/salsa...yum! Tim our server took great care of us and made our experience on their outdoor patio area phenomenal. Great ambiance, great service, great food! I highly recommend Teocalli Cocina!

Teocalli Cocina graces Lafayette's Public Road with one more worthy eatery. While one could fly to Mexico, one could also walk or drive a few blocks to Teocalli Cocina.nnWhile I order from the low end of the Happy Hour menu (currently 3-5PM daily), I watch dishes being delivered to tables around me. Terracotta plates and bowls with obvious chips and avocado followed by bigger plates of delicious looking entrees abound. I'm sitting in the shade, as most of us are, either on the covered patio or under the umbrellas by the street.nnWhile I cannot comment on the majority of drinks and entrees, I can say the guacamole and chips are great, and that this place has a good beer selection, better than I expected (thinking I'd have to accept a Corona instead of an IPA).nnMy suggestion: take a meal there, if you want a tasteful, relaxed, carefully prepared experience. And, as a plus, there's no noisy music drowning out the conversations.nnThe only reason Teocalli Cocina isn't getting 5 stars is because of some training needs. Two out of three times, I was charged full price for drinks taken during happy hour. On the second occasion, I asked the waiter to correct it, which he promptly did, but then, when I gave him a $20 he asked if I wanted change, a question that seemed irrelevant since the bill was less than $10. (I don't think he thought he was that great... just that he wasn't thinking.) Unfortunately, when he brought the change, it was less than standard arithmetic would lead one to expect, but by that point, I knew I was headed home to write a 4 star review about a place that deserves 5 stars.

If you haven’t been here yet, book a table immediately. Well thought and executed cocktail menu. Amazing tacos on homemade tortillas, really fresh ingredients, everything has been delicious the three times I’ve eaten here. Service is friendly and attentive as well! PS- The Pork Shank Pibil is not to be missed.

Not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant, they serve more traditional Mexican food. A little pricey but not too bad. Good food.
