The Rusty Tapp Colorado BBQ & Catering

I have to say I was very pleased with our take out experience at The Rusty Tapp. We wanted whole smoked chickens for Thanksgiving versus typical turkey. I searched and called a bunch of places to no avail. When I called The Rusty Tapp - Rusty answered the call! And he answered our smoked chicken quest! He prepared two smoked chickens and they were ready for us to pick up right on time.nThe chicken smelled fantastic and everyone loved it. The bbq sauce he included was excellent as well. We will be back.nThanks to Rusty and his team for helping to make our thanksgiving one to remember.

I have to say I am extremely disappointed in my experience tonight. I have heard good things about this place and cannot agree with any of them. I don't even know where to start. Our onion rings were undercooked and tasted like the grease hasn't been charged/cleaned in awhile. Fried food should come out golden brown and ours were all a deep brown color. Between the ribs, prime rib, brisket and burnt ends we could not find a good piece of meat. Everything was dry and even the BBQ sauce couldn't help the dryness. I love sweet potato fries but my waffle fries came out and were as crisp as potato chips. I hate to say this about a place but it was honestly the worst BBQ I have ever had. I will never return here and hope they get this fixed for future customers. I'm considering my 85.00 as a donation to the place because it probably needs the money due to COVID. I'm sorry Rusty but I'm sharing my honest opinion.

We will probably never go back to this restaurant. We went last night about 6:30 and only one gal in the front and one cook. Took forever to be seated and we finally asked if we could seat ourselves. Noone came, so went to the bar and ordered. Took quite awhile to get the gal to help us as the phone was ringing non stop. Beer tap broke, so got a can of beer instead. Got the bill and was far more than the menu. Too many numerous problems to go back. Menu prices were not up to date.

Gone here a couple times and honestly some of the best bbq I’ve had in Colorado, they have huge portions and great service will be returning anytime I’m working in south Denver.

Ordered take out today for first time from this location and was utterly disappointed, I sincerely felt we were given yesterdays left overs. Ordered ribs, pork belly an burnt ends. All three were overcooked. The pork belly dry and tasteless, the ribs burn and dry. To much oil on all of it... Will not return. You want great BBQ, try SMOK BBQ in RINO...That place is outstanding!
