801 Chophouse

My fiance and I came here to celebrate our engagement. We are from out of town and decided to find the best restaurant in the area. This is definitely not it. While the food was good, our waiter did not belong working in a high end establishment such as the 801 chophouse. He had zero personality. Absolutely zero help when asking about the wine selection. Very short when going over the menu. Never once asked us if there was a reason for our visit nor tried to have any sort of conversation with us. We witnessed other parties being shown the difference in cuts of meat, a dessert display, and actually having conversations with their wait staff. Out of almost every table there my fiance and I were among the most well dressed and proper. We were never rude nor disrespectful in any way. Our waiter alone made our experience at 801 unenjoyable.

We had a great time. Steaks were tasty. Chocolate cake was dry. One person in our party had to return her filet medallions since they were cooked improperly. Saturday night wasn't packed and waiter was attentive. We enjoyed the mac and cheese lobster. The asparagus was super good.

I had a great experience eating here this past weekend. My friend got a steak with lobster on it, and I got halibut & French onion soup. The French onion soup was homemade but it was my least favorite and prefer the one at ocean prime. However, garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini sides were delish. It was my friend’s birthday so the server treated her to a chocolate Soufflé. Our servers name was Jacob and he was phenomenal and attentive. Our menus/dessert plate said ‘Happy Birthday’ since that’s what we were celebrating. I would Definitely come back!

Excellent service! Food is superb. This was my first visit, especially post COVID, so I was cautious about dining in at a restaurant attached to a mall. They take all necessary precautions and exceeded my expectations.

Best place ever!!!
