Run! Do not put your loved one is this hell hole! My dad was in there a month after falling for rehab. First off they lied to us several times! They told my family he was gaining weight and his bed sore was all healed up. On the contrary, we went to pick him up today to move him back to Park Visalia with my mom, he was down to 124lbs normally he weighs around 160! His bed sore was worse and they had him so drugged he couldn't wake up! Apparently they did not want to deal with him! We now have Hospice coming in to take care of him.

They told us our Dad was improving. he lost from 157 down to 134 in 4 weeks! They lost 1 Razor, then brought another one and there was no cord when we picked him up. We ere told we couldn't have both visits, yet when I picked him up, there were people out in the booth visiting. Our family Doctor tried to do a tella conference to assess how he was doing, he was not able to connect. When we picked him up he looked like a POW. He was dehydrated, lips cracked, swollen and blue, his shirt was dirty, and the jacket he had on, the zipper was broken and had to remove over his head. He was soiled, and needed a bath. When he went into this home, he was mobile, enough to stand with help and alert. When we picked him up, He was immobile and so drugged he didn't even remember my sister and I picking him up. The nurses and staff where we took him back to assisted living gasped when they saw him. They weighed him cause they couldn't believe the difference. 2 days later after he had a few meals, water, and a bath, he called me and asked how did I get back here? I know several of the people there personally and I know that they were checking in on him, but they weren't his nurse or in his unit. I've waited to put a review till I calmed down. I think just like the article that came out in the Visalia times Delta the week before we took him out was right on!!! These nursing homes don't have enough help and can't take care of all these old folks adequately. They need family to help! They can't possibly take care of all their needs. There will be more people die of giving up, loneliness, neglect, isolation, and no human or family touch than there will be COVID cases. If you read the Visalia times delta you will understand what I'm saying, they put it so well.

I have been working at Westgate Gardens since February of 2020 in the Social Services department. I have enjoyed everyday working here!

During Covid the worst place to be! Family member was there for three weeks, came out with a bedsore! Unacceptable, bedsore is showing that patient was not being taken care of.

I have been in health care for over 50 years and have been teaching for 20 years now. I also worked as a CNA here back in the early 80’s and just loved the facility and patient care. Many years I have heard complaints that are not even close to being factual to what was going on that day. I always have said, “So, why are you not caring for your family yourself?” It is always and I answer that they are not willing to put in any time but complain about what they are not willing to do on any given day. I took care of my mother over 47 years and by myself but had family always saying what they think is wrong or what I should do better. If you do not like something then you put in the time and effort to make a positive change by helping. This facility has hired many of my first time nurses and it is not an easy job just to get your patient care done on time. We should not even have a long care facility in the USA but there are too many families who do not want to take the time and they do not even visit until the patient has passed. I have worked the floor with over double my load of patients without help from family. Until you are willing to help, please stop putting unfair negative posting on care facility sites when you are not willing to do anything for the patient. Patients are better here than with families who do not want them, Amen and I thank God for what they do!
