Moved mom from a hospital up north to here... Best thing the family ever did. Entire staff was pleasant, competent, and hospitable! Plus the cafeteria met or bested any place to eat in Nephi, unbeatable if you factored in cost!!

One of the best hospitals and staff! I definitely have never been to a hospital like this!

The staff and ED Physician was great and treated us with respect, I am grateful to them. Then comes the bill: I called to speak about my bill and the billing Manager was very rude and said they did not have to accept or bill my Christian Health Share Ministry funds. So not only did they charge full pricing for my Emergency Room visit, they un-bundled all of the charges, instead of just billing for the Emergency room visit, which is common billing practice. I was also billed the highest LEVEL of Visit, when the physician a lower level. ‘Unbundling’ means billing separately for each component, as opposed to billing at the visit under one rate.” The AMA sets rules for using their CPT codes, but apparently they don't feel obligated to follow AMA rules either, OK. I was told in a very disrespectful tone because I didn't have insurance they can bill me however they want. I was explained in great detail how they had no contract and they were not obligated to me or the payer, therefore, they were in the right to bill me however they pleased. After this pleasant episode I paid my portion and let them know there was a check coming from my Health Share Ministry (they have a terrible dislike for Christian Healthshare Ministries and I was told about that as well). After I paid my portion they referred the balance of my account to a debt collector, that was after they were informed the payer was processing the balance of my visit. The billing didn't surprise me as I have done Medical billing for years, but there is such thing as courtesy and following billing guidelines, after looking at the charges, their Charge Master may just need help, perhaps that is why they feel they need to treat their customers with contempt, they do not understand how to price a bill. Treat-with-contempt. Noun. - consider someone or something to be unworthy of respect or attention.

Cannot even express how unimpressed I was by this hospital. We went to the emergency room a couple weekends ago and were treated so poorly. I work in the medical field and have many family and friends in the medical field as well so I always go out of my way to be as nice and understanding as possible but I am still shocked at how awful our experience was here. Every employee we came in contact with while in the ER, and as we’ve had to call the hospital afterwards for follow up care, has been so rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. We heard the staff making jokes about our family member who was there for care. I called when we were a couple minutes away let them know we were coming to the ER and asked that they had a wheel chair waiting but when we got there, they did not have one ready. Overall there was just no sense of urgency whatsoever! We told about 6 different people that our family member needed a T-DAP shot and he didn’t end up getting one until the next day when I finally asked the nurse trying to discharge him to make sure he got one. She was shocked they hadn’t given him one yet. Our experience in the med/surg unit overnight was much better. The nurses were much more helpful and accommodating. It’s still TBD whether or not the surgeon did a good job as were waiting for the follow up with a different doctor closer to home. However, based on the lack of information the Dr. gave us regarding the surgery/treatment/care while we were there and for the after-care at home, I am not super impressed by him or optimistic. TLDR, if you ever need to go to the ER for something and are able to go to a different hospital or drive a little further to the next one, do it!
