I’ve enlisted the skills of Tom Hagar (Kodiak Heating & Cooling) for over a decade on a variety of repairs and installs—tankless hot water, plumbing, heat pump, and gas—and his work ethic and knowledge base are unbeatable. Not only does he install top of the line equipment, but he’s 110% trustworthy, which is a rare commodity these days. You can hand him your house key and know that when you get home, everything is going to be up and running. You talk to him about cost, he’s going to be dead honest and take great care of you. No games. Very quick response on repairs, stands behind his work and equipment, and super choosy about the quality of staff that he hires. I recommend him to everyone I know. The team from Kodiak came out when my air conditioning unit suddenly stopped working and I cannot say enough about how great they were. The owner, Tom, came out to assess the problem and he knew right away what was wrong. Somehow something (maybe a rock) had damaged the aluminum coils beyond repair. Tom went over my options and in the end the most cost effective choice was to replace the unit as repairing the coils is very difficult due to their low heat point. After doing some research I agreed that replacing the unit was the best option. I never felt pressured or unsure about his assessment and he was very straightforward as we talked through all of my options. Tom and his tech Jordan came back out just a few days later and swapped out the old unit. They worked quickly and efficiently to get the old unit out and the new one in. Jordan also looked over the furnace while he was waiting for the AC unit to charge up to make sure everything was in working order. I am so happy with my new AC and I feel confident that if I have any future heating needs that Kodiak will be who I call.

CONSUMER BEWARE – HORRIBLE BUSINESS – BAD CUSTOMER SERIVCEnIf you want to pay for the A team and get C team quality, these are your guys!nThe service I wanted was getting my vents clean and servicing my furnace. Work was “finished” a few weeks back, and here is my experience.nI had an appointment later in the day, at 2pm, so I wouldn’t have to take time off from work. The day of the appointment they called me and asked to start 2 hours sooner since these “jobs” take 4.5 to 6 hours to complete. I now had to use personal time for work since they “needed” to start sooner. After accepting this new time, they called back and cancelled the appointment altogether. The following day they called to reschedule for next week same day and time, Which I accepted.nThey arrived as planned and walked around the house and they explained the work being done. I can hear them walking around the house cleaning each register and sending their tools down the vents. They get done with the work, Arron comes in and without walking me through the house or explaining anything to me, looks at me, shrugs his shoulders and asks, “was everything done to you satisfaction?”. I quickly look around and confusingly say “I guess?”. He then abruptly says “how will you pay for this, cash, card, check?” I hand him my card and I pay. He hands me my receipt and looks to leave. I quickly asked if he had changed the filter in the furnace. Arron looks shocked at the question and dances around his answer. He says that he doesn’t normally carry a 4-inch filter and that I have a month or two left on the filter. Taken aback from his answer, I questionable said ok. We talked about the AC unit for a minute or two and they left. The whole thing took 3.5 hours. The job got done quickly and didn’t need to start 2 hours sooner like I was previously was told. Again, I had to use my own vacation time for work so they could start soon to benefit the workers…..nThey tracked dirt from their shoes all over the house (wish I took a picture). I had to vacuum the entire house from all the dirt they tracked around, can’t believe a basic clean up is not included in the price.nI have attached a picture I took of the filter the following day after the appointment. It’s completely dark and full of big chunks of dust bunnies. It should have been replaced.nThey also emptied their debris bucket on the front lawn under my rhododendron, picture attached.nThe day after the appointment, I called and talked to Toni and told her my story. She said that a filter should have been included in the furnace service. She said she would talk to Arron and the manager and would get back to me. 3+ weeks later, and I still haven’t heard back. Great customer service…..nI paid a little over $700 for their horrible service. Then I had to go to Home Depot to buy a $30 filter to replace the bad one they choose to leave in my furnace. Plus, the 1.5 house of vacation time I had to use for work. What a waste of money. The service I received that day was only valued at $200 in my opinion.nI’m curious to how clean my vents really are and how “tuned-up” my furnace really is. I would not recommend these guys to anyone. I’m sure not how they can stay in business with this kind of customer service.nDO NOT USE THEM TO SERVICE YOUR HVAC SYSTEM!
