I will recommend this hospital to all my friends and family. I recently had a natural delivery in the maternity ward, I was there a complete 4 days. I was a month early and the hospital staff was amazing. They were extremely prompt and made sure to keep me as informed as possible. They constantly asked and made sure me and my guest had drinks and snacks and were comfortable. I really felt they went above and beyond in hospitality.nMedically they were excellent as well. Me and the baby were taken care of, monitored, and advised. I felt completely comfortable leaving because I know they did very thorough checks on me and the baby. I saw a lactation specialist, the pediatrician, my OB, and whoever I needed to all again on the day I left so they were able to answer any and all questions I had.nnHighly recommend delivering a baby at St. Joe Hospital... I will be having any future children here as well.

The impossibly long waits in this particular Emergency Dept is terrible. My ninety year old mother had a large gaping laceration of the elbow. We waited three hours in the waiting room. It was summer and the air conditioning was cranked to the max. We were freezing! When she was taken back to the examining room, we waited two more hours. Finally, a nurse examined it and told us probably too much time had passed to get stitches, but a doctor would come in next. No doctor came after waiting another hour. She was exhausted and so we left without treatment.nMy second experience: I took my ex-husband to the ED with terrible abdominal pain. Granted, the waiting room was crowded. After about a half hour, I went to the desk and politely asked if they could estimate how long the wait might be. The nurse was very rude and gave me a lecture on triage and priorities. All I needed to know was if it would be one hour or six. The rude lecture was uncalled for and only added to the stress that night. We left and drove to St. Anthony's ED where he was promptly admitted. Within days he was diagnosed with lymphoma. A huge tumor was wrapped around his abdominal aorta. He died three weeks later.

The Admitting process was terrible. It took a half hour when in earlier times it was so fast and efficient. Von was fabulous, courteous and knowledgeable.nMy Rad Tech was great! Friendly, helpful and kind.nPlease work on the admitting process! Ugh!

The care here is pretty good. Most of the nurses and doctors are humble and act like normal people. Not like some doctors and nurses with a superiority complex. The only thing I would said when getting discharged ask a lot of questions about at home care and follow up. Ever since well forever really this hospital when myself of my husband gets discharged, they have not educated us on wound care. They do however make sure you know how a d when to take pharmaceuticals. So if you have an incision or wound ask ask and ask more questions. We do like this hospital a lot they take good care of us during our stays.

I had a great experience at St Joe’s. I was there for an outpatient surgery. The nurses and and nurses assistants were beyond amazing. I wish I could remember my nurses name on the night shift as well as the two nurse assistants that helped because they were absolutely amazing, caring, and attentive. Surgery can be an uneasy ordeal and they did everything to make me feel comfortable and cared for, so I thank them with all me being for their hospitality ♥ufe0f
