I didn't mind the doctors so much. I didn't particularly like being talked to like I'm a vegetable though. In addition, I find it a little odd that they are essentially licensed but all have to consult with a different doctor. If you felt competent and reliable, you would have no need to consult unless you were a student. In addition, I love how I never got notified of being able to pay my bill online but instead received a delinquency notice through the mail. Who the heck still pays bills through the mail? Please mention the website to your future clientele upfront versus only mentioning it on the bill form. I would have paid it day of if I had known about the website. Needless to say, I am glad I returned to my prior doctor in the bay.

Both my son, age 11, and my daughter, age 21, are patients in this practice. My son started last August (2019) while my daughter started this year (April 2020).nnWith my son, we waited about 4 months for a phone interview then another 3 months for the appointment. My daughter, who called in October, had to wait until the following April due to the residency change at the end of each calendar year. This was mainly because appointments were full going into the end of the year and then new patient appointments were booked out after the year changed over.nnIt does appear that the adult practice is fuller than the pediatric practice. She usually goes 1-2 months if she needs to reschedule while my son can typically get in the next week.nnMy son has had 2 psych residents. We like this second male resident much more than the first female resident but it is more personality than expertise. Both doctors have been well trained and I definitely saw growth in both as the year progressed. I appreciate that we see residents and Dr. Krause.nnWe all like and appreciate Dr. Krause. She has been focused, caring, and knowledgeable. She has worked with us through med changes, dose changes, schedule upsets and now Covid. We transitioned seamlessly to telehealth meetings and we’ve done those since our shelter in place started.nnMy daughter is just beginning her therapy and she is very happy so far. They have been working with her to determine her diagnosis and recently changed her meds and titrated her dose quickly. We have already seen positive changes in her mood and motivation. We are excited to see how she does going forward.nnOur mental health opportunities are very limited in Fresno. It took us 4 years to find a practice that took our insurance and had openings. I’m very pleased that this practice exists to train new doctors with the possibility that some will stay and open new practices here.nnWe have had only a few minor issues with refills and I lay most of the blame on Express Scripts which is ridiculous at the best of times.

This guy didnt listen to me at all it’s like he had his mind made up before I even got to the apt! He smiled and smirks when I cry! And he don’t Listen for a fact I said something and I asked him what did I just say he couldn’t do it he just kept saying we’re trying to get you the best care smh. No the best care is listening and believing in your patience if not get a new career

Dr. Karen Kraus has taken care of me for the past five years of my life and was the first psychiatrist I felt to actually listen. I came from Herritage Center, which in my experience was an awful place. Here, there are a few primary psychiatrist then there are the residents under them who cycle out every year or so. The residents can think they're all that and a bag of chips but don't be afraid to vocalize yourself to them or the primary psychiatrists. Don't let them make you feel like what you're saying doesn't matter. Assert yourself as well and don't expect the doctors to facilitate everything if you want treatment to work.

my HUGEST complaint is communication with front staff and doctors not processing refills within a reasonable amount of time and manner! it was incredibly difficult to get through to make the 1st appointment and as I've sat in the waiting room I've witnessed the ones in front ignore calls continuously. Not when they are on phone or with patient, but slowly filing and what not. I guess it's ok if they consistently returned calls, BUT THEY DON'T. It's hit and miss. More importantly is the difficulty to get prescriptions refilled. multiples faxes from pharmacies and calls from patient are required to get regular scripts refilled. VERY VERY FRUSTRATING!! If they don't want the burden of refill requests, simply prescribe it for more than one month out! I'm sorry, this is getting old and beyond RIDICULOUS
