Unfortunately, my mom had a terrible experience during two nights she stayed in the room. They didn't provide any of her request. Based on the law she is entitled to request a translator to explain the process and the procedures. The nurses never bother to do that. Due to lack of communication, my mom was panicking about why she was placed in a bed surrounded by cage, without informing her the reason. She found that very insulting. She doesn't have fast mobility due to her health issues, she wondered why they didn't give her water or food, after many attempts for asking for those simple requestsnNow I wonder where our world is heading now and where is the place of humanity?nWhy we loose ourselves when it comes to doing our job. Why people Lost their values?nAfter long 20 years I would never expected this to happen. Don't blame on COVID, that supposed to bring us together. What would you do if this happens to your mother?

They do their job. I don’t want to say how well. That’s it. Don’t expect anything more here. No humanitarian grounds, no emotions. They behave like machines.nnMy wife gave birth to our son here during these Covid times. When I wanted some one to help us bring the car seat to my wife ( I was waiting in the parking with my other 2 year old who isn’t allowed inside), their response was- we shall help you go down stairs and that’s it. Our job ends there. If you want someone to pick up the car seat, you should go down and bring it up on your own! Who does/says that to a mom who recently had a C-Sec delivery? Heartless bunch! And yea, I wasn’t allowed to bring baby to my car and ask my wife to wait in the car due to Some hospital specific reasons!nnWe did just that. My wife came down and then took the car seat back to her room to pick our son! They should rather be in insurance or money lending business with that kind of empathy!

I would say for the most part the staff are professional and respectful and do their jobs well, however when they screw up it seems to be on the most mundane of things that should be the easiest to remedy, such as a simple release to work letter. Getting Dr. Angie Parker and her staff to provide a succinct, clear and signed release was actually more difficult than getting the pacemaker I went in for.nIt should not be so difficult and aggravating to get. It's causing me financial losses without that paperwork, but hey, I guess she's still getting pay so why would she care. If you're unlucky enough to get her, be aware.

We signed my spouse up for a preventative care exam, which we confirmed on the phone and in person the day of and would be fully covered by our insurance. When the bill came back, it was for a different type of exam, which the insurance no longer fully paid for. As background, during the exam, the doctor asked if my spouse had any issues. My spouse mentioned minor abdominal discomfort that she had had recently that she had had also since she was a child. The doctor then focused on this issue for the rest of the exam. My spouse had no intentions of focusing on this issue and went along with it. The doctor prescribed medicine which transformed my spouse’s minor discomfort into pain so she stopped taking it after a few days at the direction of another doctor we know.nnAfter disputing with John Muir Health for over half a year, they have closed our case. We have no qualms with the fact that there was a misunderstanding of what the exam would be for. However, we are surprised and disheartened that they gave false allegations that we signed up for a refill of the medication as justification for the type of exam. We can only surmise the financial benefits for the institution for the type of exam that was ultimately chosen and feel sorry for those who are dissuaded from seeking medical help due to the institutions like this.
