I drove two hours one-way because there was a dog online i wanted to meet. The first lady to help me couldn't have cared any less and was rude when I asked questions one would ask - how old where from, etc. She did bring the dog out, but ... this dog was very ill. He was supposed to have been neutered yesterday, but he had no signs of having a procedure - no collar, no stitches, nothing.nnHe didn't connect with me at all, which can happen, so I asked to see another. The employees worked hard to have me adopt him, but there wasn't a connection. After my total experience, I am positive it was because he was sick. Then the employee said he had aggression problems in the kennel.nnThey brought out another dog I fell in love with. I was about to adopt him just to get him out, that is until he also showed signs of being sick, too. I figured okay ... I have an amazing vet, so I'll bring him there. The lady who runs it couldn't have been more rude when I asked questions about the dog, especially when I asked to see the health certificate she said he had.nnThe first dog's adoption fee was $575. The second, a poodle mix, was $650. These are troubling adoption amounts because she's in it for money, not for the dogs.nnTake my word - stay away. I agree that someone should shut this place down. It's a breeding ground for horrifically sick dogs and terrible conditions that they won't let you see.

My daughter and i have both adopted dogs from Wags and Whiskers. Yes it is a bit chaotic but twith many dogs and cats in their care, it is to be expected. The organization does a wonderful job placing animals. Both our dogs are great and the staff very caring. I highly recommend it. And if you're not looking for a dog, give them a donation. They pull dogs from high kill shelters, saving many lives, and every donation counts.

Just called to ask about a difficult situation I have with a couple dogs that I have. I’m trying to find a no kill shelter for them and I do not want them to be separated. One was a bait dog (he has become aggressive with one of the dogs I have). In reading what wags and whiskers pet rescue and there meaning I was confused to why I was not told that I’m sorry normally we take in animals with you circumstances but we are at capacity. I called back a second time because I read more about wags and whiskers and I wanted to know why my dogs would not be considered. That’s when the person on the phone said we are at capacity and we can’t take big dogs right now. Thing is I never said what kind of dogs they were. I felt like I called the wrong place with the response I got. Very uncaring

I adopted my best friend from Wags and Whiskers 4 years ago. He goes everywhere with me, he definitely loves his life and he completes mine.nI had a great experience with them, they even drove Hank home after they neutered him, all the way from Chico to Meadow Valley.

This is a mobile vet. You need to call first for some appointments, especially if surgery is involved.nYou can stop by and ask them questions, when they are parked by the Sportsmans Warehouse. Or, you can go to their adoption center to also ask questions. Great caring staff. Prices are more reasonable than regular vets.
