Yesterday I telephoned the East Bay Vivarium because I wanted to gather some information about transporting a red-eared slider turtle abroad.nAll staff with whom I spoke to were extremely helpful. However, I would like to especially mention Carlos.nHe went out of his way to search for different airlines & reptile transportation companies that could be of assistance. Carlos was courteous and super patient with all my questions. Incredibly empathetic too.nKudos to Carlos, as he really stands out in customer care. My husband and I always recommend the EBV to any reptile owners, because their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help.nThank you so much & keep up the fabulous work ud83dude0a

Aside from one person (you need only read some other reviews to find out who) most of the staff is pleasant but none of them can agree on what they've got in stock. I wouldn't bother unless you happen to live nearby and can see what they have with your own eyes. If you call you'll get a wildly different answer depending on who you speak to.

Best reptile shop period gave me a starter vine and a basically full setup for my crested gecko. All if the staff seemed incredibly well informed as well as friendly. If I lived closer I would get all my supplies for my reptiles from here.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I went to the store yesterday and bought a baby corn snake and a complete habitat set up for her. A store employee named Ian was so incredibly helpful! He was friendly and explained everything in a way that was very easy to understand. He showed us several snakes so that I could decide which one I liked. I didn't feel rushed at all. Knowledgeable, friendly service makes this place my favorite place to go for herps and herp supplies.

I went in with my 6 year old daughter looking for a baby Ball Python. We walked around I unround and were helped right away. We were shown a variety of different morphs (colors based on genetics) and finally found a GORGEOUS color. He was a Cinnamon Banana! All bps we looked at were in great health and had atleast 2-3 meals. He was a little pricey but his traits are what drove up the price. They had Normal Ball Pythons starting at I believe it was $50-$75!nnAll in all, this was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend if you live in the bay area and are looking for a new member of the family or need supplies for your current one to come and check it out! Staff is friendly and VERY knowledgeable. Its not about profits here. They care about what they do.
