A Dream for the year 2020: appointment-only, cocktail & small plates bar. Classic cocktails, house shots, and a pretty decent natural wine cellar. Grilled pizzas are great in the summer & mushroom shepherd’s pie in the winter!
The Coven House is one of my favorite neighborhood spots! I love sitting on the back patio for grilled-everything aperitivo, and now that it’s cooler out I’ve found their indoor space is super cozy. They have the best wine and beer recommendations, and their espresso martini is my favorite way to end an evening out. Recently, we were lucky enough to score tickets to their German Nacht and it did not disappoint either (the braised cabbage!! ahh).nnIn short, excellent service, expertly crafted drink & plates, plus the added fun of free-range bar cats - what more could you ask for?
Fantastic service. Bartenders know their stuff. Personalized drinks and food that will make you feel like royalty. You can't go wrong with any wine they pick out for you.nnAtmosphere is perfect for any medievalist, ask the bartender about 15th century monk traveling patterns!nnWith a dark academia aesthetic that rivals any vampiric castle, this is a goth's happy place. A happy place filled with absinthe frappes, skulls, and perfectly sautéed vegetables. You won't be disappointed!
