I have been to a lot of places for treatment in this state, and out of all the psych hospitals I have been to -The Ridge has always been a safe place for me time and time again. I am always met with compassion, respect and concern.nnI have severe PTSD/ depression and with that comes some really scary episodes. In those times this is the place that I can take refuge and have a calm environment to focus on myself and a plan of action for wellness.nnThe staff on unit 3 (adult psych) does their best and you can tell they really do care. Love the recreational therapist and lunchroom staff too! They are kind people, they actually care and want to help.nnI also think your experience depends on the mindset you put yourself in when you go. YOU are accountable for your own wellness and mental health, so if you go in and don’t participate then it’s your fault- not theirs. You gatta be your own hero, they are just there to help.nnAlso- the food is actually pretty dang good and don’t expect great beds because your going to a HOSPITAL- i can’t tell you one hospital that has comfy beds. Not to mention- everything has to be thin like sheets and blankets because well, it’s a psychiatric hospital.

Good luck. Tried to do the outpatient and was pulled around for entire week just to be told it could be 4 weeks until I received a call or anyone to see. Why not just tell me that the first day so I can start looking else where? However, going by all these reviews I’m not really sure why I even called the place.

We were treated unfair. One nurse was being very discriminating towards my friends and I. Many times we were left unsupervised and no one did anything about annoying unnecessary screaming by someone who had no special needs, just 14 and immature but the moment I just BREATHE i’m told to stop being distracting and to pay attention.nI was in a room with no heater and still no one turned the thermostat for me, I froze every night for the 6 days I was there, I got in fetal position every time and breathed down my shirt just to keep warm, still no one did anything, I only got told “sorry you gotta sleep in the cold.” but the next staff the next night said he could turn the thermostat attached to that room and still, nothing happened. The new people got roommates in the girls unit before any of us in the boys unit, I wasn’t even on a no roommate order, neither were 3/4 of us there.nI got a roommate in the boys unit with someone on the LAST DAY.nI also lost a bunch of clothing items when I got discharged, I bet you guys just put it in your donation bin, sickening.

The staff were amazing and treated us all with respect and were very helpful! People can pick at small issues but the overall stay I felt safe and cared for when I left I felt I had gotten alot of helpful information and I felt stronger. I feel like I can handle things until my doctor can take over.
