Mrs. Beadsley Vintage Jewelry

A family member who collects vintage jewelry was visiting from out of town and excited to check out the shop. She and I along with my 3 children (ages 6, 4 and a baby in my arms) sat on the bench and waited outside for the owner to arrive and open (over 20 minutes as she was running late). She took one look at us and asked if we were planning on coming into her store. We said yes and that we had been waiting for her. She then replied “Well, this is NOT a gift shop! My items are very expensive and children are NOT welcome!” My visiting family member stated that the children were very well behaved (they were just sitting on the bench patiently waiting) and the owner replied “That’s what they all say!” And turned us away! She was incredibly rude! I can understand being concerned with such a small store and having items of high value, but clearly there was a more professional and kind way of addressing her concern for example; you are welcome to shop but please keep a close eye on the children, or even you break it you buy it! Or even asking if we would be ok keeping the children outside and that she would be happy to assist us etc. She was so incredibly rude, and I was completely embarrassed that this was an impression left on a visiting family member of our community! The big shop local sign on her front door should also include no children allowed!! What an awful experience!

Awesome little store jam-packed with beautiful things. Owner is a joy to be around. A little hard to find, but it's next to Kwik Lube in the shopping center across from Ashley Pond

Mrs. Beadsley, the store, is a treasure trove of delights from a bygone era, and Mrs. Beadsley, herself, is the gracious personification of the same. She and her diminutive doggie will make you welcome, take you back to a gentler time, and enchant you with the histories of her wide selection of vintage items. This is a special person and a special place.
