I used to work in Akron and eat lunch here. The food is great. After today I will not be back. I understand Ohio’s law and mandate for mask wearing and I adhere as much as I can. I am an Air Force veteran with asthma and breathing issues from birth defects and my time overseas. It’s hard enough to breathe without a mask. I walked into this establishment today to have lunch with a friend, I did not wear a mask from the entrance to my table. Customers within the restaurant did not wear a mask while seated. I was asked to wear a mask and asked the gentleman behind the counter why since no one else was and if I needed to wear one from the entrance to my table. He replied yes, you have to wear a mask while in here. So I got up walked back outside put my mask on and walked back in, the gentleman told me to leave and would not serve me. When I tried to politely explain my medical condition he got irate and called me a liar and said that I needed to bring him proof of my conditions and service. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and I understand my medical conditions and limits, but I will never return to this establishment and I will not recommend this place to anyone based off of their customer service only.

This is a hidden gem!! Don't expect fancy table cloths, napkins, tables, or décor. However, you can expect off the charts food, well-crafted stiff drinks, and a cozy neighborhood feel. This family-run small business is small but that only adds to the charm. Ask Alan, the owner/bartender, for the history and you will see how this place has been a community staple for years.nnI have had many different items from the menu and have yet to be anything other than impressed. Pro-tip...order the cheesy bacon fries!!

I think they took the salt and pepper off the tables for covid, and also removed them from the kitchen. Everything was under seasoned and flavorless.nnStuffed peppers - the meat was cooked, I suspect boiled, outside the pepper before being stuffed and covered with sauce and cheese.nnSauerkraut balls - enormous, but the filling was bland and mushy. I don't know how they got the salt out of sauerkraut, but they did.nnI've tried this place twice, time to find someplace else.
