Tavern on the Lake

Great service! Went here for my 10 year anniversary with my wife kids and had Nick as our server. I liked that I didn’t really have to ask and they offered to seat us by the fireplace which was open at the time. Food was great and Nick was terrific. I didn’t even mention we were there for our anniversary and he made it a memorable night that we will never forget. He has that old school class that you just don’t get from servers nowadays. Went to one of the fancier restaurants the night before and was sorely disappointed, which was stuck and had overpriced mediocre food.

Great place to start your whole vacation in Lake George. The hostess called us in quickly and didn't make us wait for a while even though they said it'd be a 45 minute wait. They were very courteous and welcoming. The hostess gave us a nice seat overlooking at the lake so it was wonderful. Our server David was amazing as well! He made sure we had a great dinner. Their roasted and pan seared salmon are killers. Their tenderloins were amazing. The cappuccino mousse pie is a must try. Tavern on the lake made me believe that you can find great seafood here in new york ud83dude02

I was so disappointed with the service and we didn’t even get the chance to eat here. We spent a long day of hiking and we probably looked like we were homeless but the way the hostess treated us was ridiculous. We asked for a table and she said it would be about 15 minutes. That’s not a bad wait time but the hostess had a bit of an attitude. We waited outside for our table and my husband went in to checks how long it would be for outside seating. The hostess looked at him like he had two heads. She said we are lucky we even got a table inside and was snickering with her coworkers. We wouldn’t have been upset by that statement if it wasn’t for the rude attitude we got with it. We just left and drove down the road to the beach club. The service was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh and came out fast despite the amount of people. Did I mention we sat by the water! If you are dressed nice and didn’t go hiking all day then you will probably get good service at this place but make sure you look like you have money.

Amazing view of Lake George. Classy but casual eatery at end of hotel/resort. Good service, prices good. Food good but not great ( could be a bigger lunch varietyn.more options for kids)

Six of us had lunch there in July of 2020. The food was great. At the end of our meal a large styrofoam coat of arms fell from the top of the ceiling on a woman in my party. It hit her on the head and elbow. It was over 15 feet above us! The manager of the facility came over, apologized, gave her a bag of ice and took information of her and her husband. Our bill was over $200. They didn't offer a free meal for the 2 people who were affected. The wife and her husband. She could have been seriously injured! I understand that sometimes accidents happen but the manager or owners should have done more when this happened. This is my first time here but my friends are here many times with their boat. I guess they do not care much about returning customers! Other customers would have threatened to sue but my friends are very nice people. It is unfortunate because our food was good. The waitress was also wonderful.
