First time at cates, had the lasagna...out of this world!! Better than mom’s (don’t tell her)! Perfection!! My adult nephew, who is very fussy, ordered pasta and he couldn’t stop stop raving about the meatballs which I tried one it was delicious!! Going to be tough to make a decision next trip and I’m sure there will be many more to come!!!

Just finished Buddy’s lasagna and it was so delicious!! I like to cook but have to agree that his lasagna is much more tasty than mine. And the meatball “appetizer” was enormous and also tasty. Thank you for you hard work in this pandemic. We did take out and appreciate how safe you are being during these difficult times.

The Inn Keeper at the resort we are visiting recommended Cates. I read the mixed reviews and decided to take my family any way. We were only a party of 4 and called Sunday afternoon to make reservation for that evening. The person on the phone told us that they do not take reservations, it is a first come first serve. Much to our disappointment many people were showing up with reservations while we were waiting for a table.nnWe found the staff to be friendly and not at all rude like some of the reviews suggested. As soon as we were seated, a woman came to take our drink order until our waiter arrived. Both were very pleasant.nnUnfortunately, the food was not at all what we expected. It was not prepared with any care, love, quality control or pride. We ordered a variety of appetizers including the Italian Sausage and Broccoli Rabe. The menu description describes it as “Cannellini beans, shaven parmesan, virgin olive oil and toasted garlic bread”. What I received was a soup with only two pieces of seriously overcooked broccoli rabe. You actually had to fish through the broth to find it.nnWhen it came time to order the Main Course, I wanted the Osso Bucco. Regrettably, there was none left. So, my daughter and I ordered the Classic Eggplant Parmesan. What I received was only two pieces of eggplant that came out of the deep-fryer over pasta. The pasta was cooked well, but there was nothing parmesan about the dish. There was no cheese at all. I called it to the waiter’s attention, and he apologized and said he was not the cook. Such a simple and easy dish to make was awful.nnI had no problem with waiting to be seated as some of the other reviews suggested. I had no problem with rudeness and enjoyed my conversations with the servers. The food was just not good and carelessly prepared. The owners should keep a closer eye on what comes out of their kitchen.

Went last night for our anniversary dinner and had a great time. Sat at the beautiful old bar. Kelly, our bartender, made the night fun and delicious. Her recommendations were right on point and the food was out of this world. Save room for dessert because the lemon cake was amazing. The Old Fashions and Espresso Martini’s were made to perfection.

Our server Amanda was awesome! Very pleasant. We were a party of 6 and well accommodated. Ordered the lasagna with 4 in my party tonight and they will never get lasagna anywhere else!!!! Chicken scarpiello was amazing! A MUST stop while staying in Bolton and a job well done to the staff during these time. Keep up the great job !!
