Went for an after dinner cocktail and to listen to the live music. Sat at a table and wore mask if had to leave the table...was nice to be out after this past year...only thing concerning were people sitting at the bar, and no one was wearing a mask or distancing. Staff were lovely and helpful...saw them constantly cleaning tables between patrons. Boyfriend ordered a pizza to go and he was excited it was 'bar pizza' and wants to go back soon!
We went there this week and the waiter was amazing, top notch. Really made it for us. The prices were fine, pretty good considering how delicious the food was and the portions were reasonable. We came for the atmosphere - the patio specifically - knowing it would be a beautiful place to sit and have some drinks. I should caveat, it was a little disappointing that they were doing some work on the deck when we went, but the guys seemed to try to keep the drilling as quiet as they could. It's just an inevitably noisy process, and was a little hard to hear over at first, and I thought it was going to be more of a problem than it was, but they laid off after about 10 minutes, and aside from some large industrial machine running out on the golf course over the next 15 minutes, it was pretty quiet. Noisy for a golf course! But we stayed there longer than that, and past the first 20-25 min, it was just perfect.nnIt would have been a 5 star experience, anyway, but it does seem like smoking out on the patio dining is allowed, or at least not discouraged. This could have been a real problem, as I have severe asthma and didn't expect people to be smoking within 25 feet of a restaurant (maybe it's a difference in state laws, coming from the west coast?), but luckily they sat far enough away that it only drifted over occasionally, just enough to be aware it was there. It was fine this time, but enough to keep us from coming back if it is a regular thing. Could definitely ruin a meal to have to rush out & leave early to be able to breath.nnThe patio & course itself, though, is just stunning. The drink menu and bartending was exquisite. The service was unbeatable. There were gluten free & dairy free options, as long as you don't mind meat (the haddock is breaded with oyster crackers, which wasn't mentioned on the menu - so make sure to let the waiter know if you've got any major allergies - you'll be in good hands). It was a pretty cool crowd of locals in the place.nnJust a shame that because of the smoking in the dining area, we can never go back.
Masks no longer a requirement apparently ud83eudd37♀ufe0f I wore mine anyway Full house! Good food!
Having a wedding during a pandemic is not easy. We had already booked The Derryfield Restaurant for our venue prior to 2020. Throughout the whole process The Derryfeild's event coordinator, Kelly, was open in communication and honest. What originally drew us to this venue was the reasonable price in comparison to other venues, a beautiful place to have a ceremony and a room for the reception (and the room as plan B should it rain). Although all of the reasons we chose The Derryfield Restaurant still hold true, after our amazing wedding day I want to share some insight on why I would choose them again for any event or would strongly recommend them to a friend! As a DYI and type A Bride, I left Kelly with all of our decor (which was not minimal) and a list of what my vision was. As I walked into the reception hall to wait for my cue to go marry the man of my dreams, everything was in its spot and as beautiful as I had imagined. The staff was so attentive from the time I stepped into the bridal room to get ready to the time we left. I want you to know as the Bride and Groom our plates were kept warm until we were ready to eat, our desert was packaged for us to take home and we were checked in on to make sure everything was going smoothly throughout the night. The service was amazing, the coordination was impeccable and our day was absolutely beautiful. Thank you to The Derryfield Restaurant for helping give this girl a dream wedding during a pandemic and a huge thank you to Kelly and her staff for making everything run seamlessly and allow us to enjoy every aspect of our day!
