We recently visited the area and stopped in for dinner. The server, Brianne, was friendly from the first moment. She welcomed us immediately and had water ready in moments. She was engaging and answered all the questions we had with ease, even helping us figure out what we might like best, when we couldn't decide. She checked on us just the right amount and our drinks were always full. She delivered the food in a very timely manner and made sure we had everything we needed. She was a pleasure to work with and she made us want to visit the restaurant again on our next trip. Brianne was a wonderful representative of Applebees. Every restaurant should be so lucky!
Staff is professional and super friendly. Drinks and food came quickly! My dinner was piping hot and delicious. 10/10 recommend! Even the manager came and talked to me to be sure everything was good and I was happy.
My friend and I both went here last night. Him and I both aren’t very cashed up and we were stressing about how we were pay. We had just enough money so we asked for our check and when our waiter came over he handed us a receipt that was written over with in pen and it read “I already paid it”. Me and my friend were just as confused as we were grateful. When he came back to take our plates we asked him who paid for it, to which he said “don’t worry about it, I got it.” I tried to get his name before I left but my friend and I were late for something and had to book it out of there. His act of kindness has been the best thing that’s happened to me in a while, I’ve had a pretty rough past couple months, I went out to eat with my friend to try and get my mind off things and then that happened. I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for that, thank you so much Applebees.
Food is typical American cuisine - burgers, pasta, salad, sirloin steak, chicken, fish, with the occasional American-Mexican dishes like burrito bowls, tacos. We most recently ordered car-side pickup and by the time it got home (10 min drive) food was still hot, including the spinach and artichoke dip. The guy who brought our order was very timely and seemed concerned about getting it out to us quickly and accurately. Overall very pleased with taste, flavor, and quality of the food.
I've eaten at this location several times, both lunch and dinner, as well as at some other locations in the area (Holland, Grand Haven, etc.). The problem I have with this chain is that I don't find their menu particularly interesting. Last visit was for lunch and I had the chicken tender lunch special. The breading on the tenders was very thick, although I can say that they were cooked properly. The problem with having the best chicken tenders ever at another famous chain is that it tends the ruin the experience to be found elsewhere. This indeed was the case here. Service was good. Checkout was via their tabletop device, which can be challenging for the senior crowd. Any labor savings were negated as the server had to operate the device for the person paying the bill. Sometimes technology does not pay.nnUpdate form 09-16-2020:nnWe are living in extraordinary times and it's really tough in the restaurant business. I have eaten out at several places and the dine-in experience is a lot different than it used to be. Wait staff have a tough time making a living on 50% capacity (here in MI), so I suggest that you tip generously with that in mind. Also wait times can be very long due to reduced staff. I had one meal at another chain that took over two hours. You may be disappointed if you're in a hurry at any dine-in restaurant. I'll also note that in general in any dine-in place, the ambiance is gone and dining is a generally quiet and at times rather boring experience.nnAbout my meal yesterday, I had the chicken tortilla soup, which was very good, but curiously lacked any cheese. I had the chicken broccoli alfredo and it was good, although for my tastes could have used both more sauce and more broccoli. That being said, as someone who works in the frontline in grocery retail, I salute the restaurant workers and the job that they do.
