*This is open* Sammy Hogue was kind enough allow me to have a chat, he showed me several of his rare marble-making machines -- and how they worked. I bought a couple of amazing marbles.

We came to West Virginia to visit our daughter and son-in-law. Wanted to see Sammy's work while we were here. He was kind enough to show us around his shop and give us a great tutorial of his current marble work and past glass knowledge from his work at the glass factory in Ellenboro. It was a fantastic day! ...and was able to get some of Sammy's work. I'm now a proud owner of some of Sammy Hogue's art pieces! A visit here is a must if you're in the the area....

I am an avid marble collector and glass enthusiast. I stopped here to check out Sammy Hogue because I see his marbles in auctions and his name is mentioned within the marble community often. I really enjoyed my visit. Sammy went through so many details about marbles and how he makes them. He also creates his own colored rods and stands for his marbles and paperweights. His workshop and store is located on his property. The necklaces you see are melted marbles that his wife creates as well. I do recommend to anyone that is interested in marbles or paperweights to stop here. Sammy has been making crystal marbles, paperweights and other objects such as wine glasses since he was very young. He also worked in the glass factory that was once located in Ellenboro, West Virginia before it shut down years ago.

Sammy Hogue has been in the glass business his entire life. Now retired he prides himself on his very tall tomato plants, which are just over 7 and 1/2 feet tall right now and of course his Handmade and Machine Made Marbles that he produces in his Garage behind him home.nnI am looking forward to visiting him again before his next upcoming show September 23, 24, 25 at the Sistersville, WV Marble Festival. When I'm there I also plan to ride my car on the Sistersville Ferry Boat and visit the Historic Russell House. Come along and say Howdy to Sammy and bring home a handmade marble.
