Opie's Candy Store

If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to go to have it satiated. Large variety of candy which you can purchase by the pound. The place has the old time candy store feel located in Mayberry.

On a recent Saturday we visited after taking a tour. It’s a neat old fashioned candy store where you purchase by the pound. The store was clean and well stocked. There was nothing that stood out to make it a five star review including the service.

MUST visit when in Mt. Airy. We came to see the wonderful Andy Griffith Museum ( from Florida) and ended our day at this delightful place.. not only all the candy you could dream of, but 'eye' candy everywhere.. took lots of photos just of the displays. The staff was friendly and the ice cream was delicious.. a perfect hour.

This was a fun look back to yesteryear with lots of old world candies and candies I haven't seen since I was a kid friendly staff selection Galore a must-see when you're in town
