I have been very happy here. I had a sister write about how good it has been here as well in the local paper. I’ve been very pleased...some of the CNA’s could use some more training at times. Everybody has bent over backwards to make my stay a good one. The therapists (Shawn and Ami) have been exceptionally good and have really worked with me.

I just want to start off by saying I work at AHCC. It is very family based we are a big family. Everyone always has each other’s back and it is a very warm environment to work. I have been employed here about 6 months now and I absolutely love this place and job!

2/3 UPDATE: Upon admission back into the hospital, my grandpa has been diagnosed with severe dehydration, malnutrition, KIDNEY FAILURE, and COVID-19 (none of which he came with) all due to the negligence of this facility. He also lost 22 pounds in the 10 days he was at this facility. Absolutely disgraceful.nnMy grandpa has been in this rehab facility since January 21st. My poor grandma has been trying to get in contact with someone regarding her husband every single day, multiple times per day with NO response back. He now has tested positive for Covid-19... which for a place that doesn’t allow a single visitor is a whole other issue. Please tell me how visitors aren’t allowed BUT 2 strangers can be roommates with no barrier between them and no mask? Please tell me how visitors aren’t allowed BUT this facility can hold a job fair inside for strangers to come to.nnMy grandma has called daily where they transfer her call and no one answers. She calls back over and over and over again. My grandpa has dementia and is confused to begin with. After an entire week of not being able to speak to ANYONE, my grandma decided to show up and demand for my grandpa to be discharged this weekend. Obviously he was not able to go; but, miraculously 10 minutes later my grandma receives a call that he’s having to be transferred by EMS to the ER due to severe dehydration.nnI truly would not ever choose to send a single family member to this facility. It has been nothing but neglect from Day 1. Then adding on absolutely zero communication or regards to family members is pathetic and inexcusable. During this time that family members can’t speak or see the patient on the inside, you better believe the bare minimum should be to call these poor families back. The facility should be ashamed of itself. All my grandpa got out of this “rehabilitation” center is no progress to his broken hip, more confusion than he started with, and now, COVID-19, which with all of his previous medical conditions could kill him.nnWord of Advice: DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS FACILITY.

Because of COVID I am not able to visit my family member. I think that they are receiving decent care, but since I can’t go there I have no way of knowing. What I do know is that since my family member has been diagnosed with COVID I have been treated like I don’t matter. I have left over 7 messages over the past 5 days asking for a doctor or a nurse to return my call and provide me with an update. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. Imagine if your loved one was potentially dying of COVID and no one cared enough to pick up the phone and update you. Further, they won’t even put a call through so that I can talk to her. I don’t live near the facility, so I had to have a cell phone delivered to her room so that I could talk to her. This level of apathy is appalling.
