I've worked in health care for 40+ years, and I know there are some people you just can't make happy, no matter how hard you try. I came here for an imaging procedure. Everything about the experience was pleasant, from check in to the procedure itself. Staff were pleasant and efficient, and seemed to like their jobs, which is hard to do when everyone complains all the time. The low reviews surprise me. My only issue has been trying to get results sent to my PCP in Maine, or it would be 5 stars.

The check in process was easy. You tell them what test you want (rapid or regular ($100 and $150 respectively), fill out a form, and pay. They have up a plastic screen for extra protection and you put your credit card in a pay machine so you are the only one handling it. They were really clean. They had two pen holders for pens that were sanitized and ones that were used

My aunt was there as apatient on the 3rd floor. Overall the hospital is better under AdventHealth. Even though my aunt was taken care of and not harmed, the staff was very serious non compassionate. But that did not bother me that much what I found rude was this staff member who I gotta assume works in the supply department because she had a cart with supplies talking very loud and saying the most horrible things about what I assume by her conversation are her bosses. All I can remember is her was talking about some people named Edith, Denise and Isaac. It was so bad that the staff member she was talking too had a smile then her demeanor changed. She gave the nurses station a negative vibe. I asked who she was and all they said she was Michelle from Materials. I recommended my aunt go to another AdventHealth hospital next time.

Had a heart cath yesterday., they were extremely busy and the wait was long however the staff was magnificent. Kept me informed comfortable and always had the time for me even when they were obviously under extreme pressure. That is what professionalism is and that is what they displayed . Well done

The Baby Center Labor and Delivery ExperiencennFirst time mom, 29 years old with my partner presentnInduced at 39 weeks (March 2021)nVaginal deliverynnTook pitocin to expedite contractionsnEpidural at 3 centimeters dilatednBaby delivered within an hour after water was brokennStayed 3 daysnnShout outs to...nnSusie Parton (ARNP/ CNM) : She delivered my baby (Legend) and I believe she saved his life. When the water was broken his heart rate dropped dramatically. She, along with some of her staff, rushed in and brought the baby's heart rate back up. She made sure that I would open with minimal tear by expanding the opening. However, when the baby's head dropped it was apparent that the rest of him had to come out ASAP. He had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck! She instructed me to take a deep breath in and to push while also breathing out through my diaphragm. Voila, baby was out and cried with a healthy set of lungs. I did end up tearing (it's my first baby and I was high risk due to gestational diabetes, I elected the vaginal delivery even though a C section was an option) but I feel that had Susie not had done such a good job that I would have torn way worse than I did (2nd degree). For example, my older sister had her second baby vaginally at Celebration and she had to get 11 stitches, mine was maybe 6-8 stitches in comparison despite my being high risk, so close to full term, and it being my first. Susie even checked back on me on my third day to make sure I was doing well and satisfied with the service. Did I mention that when I delivered my baby it was within the same hour that two other women had delivered their babies? The nursing staff was able to successfully provide for 3 births within the same hour (there was a fourth birth later that night as well - but imagine! 3 within an hour!)nnMarie (night nurse): She is probably in her 20's, very sweet, soft spoken, polite, she was very quiet as a night nurse. She asked if I would like any snacks and I said no I was fine (to be honest I didn't want to impose). She came back with snacks and left them on the table, she said she brought them in case I changed my mind. She is an angel. I did change my mind and I ended up eating the snacks immediately.nnKim (day nurse): Kim was my day nurse I believe for the first or second day. She was professional, and very knowledgeable. She has a ton of experience and was my go to person for questions that I would have been otherwise afraid to ask anyone else. She has this motherly energy about her, I felt comfortable in her presence.nnExperience:nnFirst of all, I grew up in the Kissimmee/ Davenport area since I was 12 years old. My spouse was born in the Osceola Regional Hospital. My close childhood friend is a nurse. And we have heard horror stories about Heart of Florida for years. That must have been before they were bought out by Advent Health 2 years ago because upon entering the 5th floor we were greeted by glowing reviews by professionals on the quality of care from HoF's Baby Center. And they were right! As of 2021, I can confidently say that this is the best place to go if you want to have a baby.nnAll in all, the nursing and hospital staff in general were professional, respectful, humble, clean, experienced, friendly, reliable. Oh! And the room service! They made sure I was fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It didn't taste like the stereotypical hospital food, it tasted like hotel food (at least that's what I called it). Post delivery I had eggs for breakfast, a well rounded lunch, and a hearty dinner. They restocked the bathroom supplies upon request (diaper pads, cooling gel packs - which, by the way, bend until it the plastic bag pops THEN remove the gel liners out of the plastic encasing, spray bottle for after patting yourself clean, etc.)nnI am so grateful I chose Heart of Florida Advent Health instead of Winnie Palmer or Celebration.
